M & S - getting something right!

DIddled · 07/08/2013 21:45

Popped in today and quite a few items caught my eye-
Autograph Black leather skirt - soft and a good length unlike the two pelmets masquerading as skirts that I sent back to other stores last year.
Autograph leather fronted leggings
Stretch fabric boots with a decent heel
Autograph suede courts with a high but sensible heel for nights out.

I'm going to go for a good browse at weekend. I'd all but given up on M & S- I used to spend ££££ years ago.Definitely worth a look.

Grin I always get a good reception except when it comes to stuff I like, then it gets universally panned

Honestly, my wardrobe would make mist of S&B wince Wink

finlaysmum12 · 08/08/2013 11:04

long length ,long sleeved, heatgen thermal top- buy one,buy one half price.
i'm happy

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/08/2013 11:55

Poor Tethers. That dress really is bloody awful though.

I looked in a smallish M&S yesterday - it was all absolutely hideous, except for the LC plain black v neck t-shirts, of which I bought another two.

Those LC plastic leggings are even worse than the poo dress though, tbh.

And as for the new staff uniform...

tethersend · 08/08/2013 14:06

It's ok Remus, I bring it on myself Grin it's got to the point where if S&B approves, I know it's probably not for me (save my gorgeous Esska sandals).

This would be nice if they hadn't fashioned it from flame-retardant fabric.

Belindaearl2 · 08/08/2013 19:49

This is lovely up close. Worried it shouts 'eighties' tho?

MsWinnieBaygo · 08/08/2013 19:53

Hard to say Belinda - the way they've styled it screams 80s - black & white pattern with peroxide blonde - and I doubt they were doing it in an ironic way Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/08/2013 20:35

In silk, that grey dress would be very, very me.

Not sure about the leather jacket - the colour looks a bit 'off' to me. The stylist should be shot though.

I saw this the other day and it's nice AND not made of plastic, but I wish it was grey.

I like the look of this.

moondog · 08/08/2013 21:10

at Tether's turd dress.
It's bad, girl.
Why do they want everyone to wear a bloody biker jacket?
You can be assured that by the time M&S are flogging something that was once hip,it's well on the way out.

DIddled · 08/08/2013 22:24

Jeez that brown dress is rank!!! I think in a dress leather must be black and fitted. Still standing by my original finds though!!

You'll all be laughing on the other side of your face when Vogue feature it Grin

Poo is going to be MASSIVE this season Grin

MsWinnieBaygo · 08/08/2013 23:36

Quite like these though not enough to actually buy any of them
Dress
Jumper
Blouse
Dress nasty looking material and belt though

DIddled · 08/08/2013 23:54

Speaking of leather detailing, has anyone seen anything like this top anywhere? I saw Gwyneth Paltrow wear it on Glee and I've been pining ever since!

(I will try to work out short links soon!)

MsWinnieBaygo · 09/08/2013 00:37

I guess you could size up quite a bit to make it slouchier.

And cut the neckline into a V

And remove front pocket

And then squint lots so it looks vaguely familiar Grin

Here

Have you looked on Zara? They went through a recent phase of adding leather onto casual tops.

MsWinnieBaygo · 09/08/2013 00:40

Faux leather elbow patches

Quite like this one actually.

MissBeehiving · 09/08/2013 07:17

tethers - I will myself to like that dress before opening your link but I'm afraid it does resemble a big shiny poo.

Rooners · 09/08/2013 07:31

What on earth happened to the Belinda Earls stuff that was featured in something or other a few months ago?

I have vouchers and can't find ANYTHING from that collection.

DoveDovePigeon · 09/08/2013 09:10

That poo dress is fricking awful!

moondog · 09/08/2013 11:58

Heheh.
I think I am getting your style now Tether after clicking on those shoes and that website. Nice and definitely not one of the lemmings.
(Although even a free spirit might think twice about that faecal frock.)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/08/2013 13:48

Pmsl re faecal frock.

tethersend · 09/08/2013 15:41

Faecal Chic Grin

Tubemole1 · 09/08/2013 17:32

Pooh fashion!

That.Is.The.Worst.Dress.I.Have.Ever.Seen.

Lol! Grin

sophiedaal · 09/08/2013 20:24

Those leggings are scary. Is 'Bad Sandra Dee' a thing for next season? Do we all need to buy into spray-on leggings and Cystemme?

Tweet2tweet · 09/08/2013 20:51

I am in shock at that dress, it's scatological....

Oly4 · 09/08/2013 21:12

I bought some stunning ankle boots in there today (not on website yet). Grey suede Autograph ones with a tan strap. Honestly, they are lovely! The shoes are pretty fab this season
