Can you wash Converse trainers?

In a washing machine, without them disintegrating or changing colour? I tried to wash a pair of cheapo canvas converse look-alikes last summer and the glue melted and turned them shitty brown. I don't want to fork out for real Converse if I can't wash them.

Yes, do mine at 40 in with normal washing, have never had any problems.

I washed mine recently after asking the same question as mine were a bit tatty and they came up a treat Smile. I didn't bother removing the laces - I just whacked them in and they washed fine.

Put them in a pillowcase or laundry bag if you have one, chuck them in the washer on a normal wash and they will come out fine. Best to wash with a normal load though so they don't damage the washer drum as they bounce around.
