Birthday invite - masked ball

I have been invited to a 40th birthday party in about 5 weeks time. It is a masked ball! I need help finding something to wear as I do not have anything suitable at all, as my wardrobe is rather capsule since I have lost a few stone! To add to the mix I wear glasses, very strong prescription so I cannot be without them.

I am 34. about 5'10 and wear a monsoon size 20 currently, kiyonna size 1 dresses also seem to fit. I cannot wear heels, but have a pair of bronze/gold ballet pump things, which I can just about cope with wearing for an evening. (Feet issues!) 38g bra size, thighs are proportionally bigger than the rest of me! I have very short hair (brown).

I don't really want to have to spend anything, but I guess will have to find about £150 to include buying a suitable mask!

Any whizzy ideas? I hate the idea of dressing up/masks so don't want to feel like a plonker!!!

A mask will only cost about £15/20 online so a nice portion of your budget still left for your outfit. It's a good time to get a bargain too with sales coming to an end.
I'd go for a really nice black dress and dress it up with some fab jewellery. And a mask in a colour that flatters your skin tone. You'll look great!

I think I like the idea of the shorter one, but it's a shame they don't say how long it is, I can't wear anything higher than my knees as I just look fat then!
