I am seriiously impreased with;
Boots Botanics moisturiser SPf 15 sinks in lovely and doesnt leave my skin greasy

I third garnier BB cream, love it!

bleedingheart · 04/08/2013 20:44

17 BB cream, about £5, often on offer, goes on so easily and gives natural coverage.

Inecto coconut intensive conditioner -usually £1.99 a tube in Bodycare or Home Bargains. I have lots of curly hair and I often leave this in for the day and the next wash I have lovely soft hair.

Aldi shower gel -lemon or vanilla & raspberry, less than a pound a bottle

Aldi SPF 15 day cream £1.99

Lustrasilk curl spray max £3.99 -superb at revitalising and holding curls -haven't seen this in chain stores, only independents but well worth checking out

Bourgeois healthy pressed powder - I apply this with a big brush and it sets my face for the day

coffeeinbed · 05/08/2013 21:04

Boots Botanics Sensitive skin range.
Revlon lip butters and crayons.

Allthingspretty · 05/08/2013 21:15

Collection (2000) long last lipstick in vintage rose. MLBOB shade for me

Ah, mine currently is Revlon Pink Truffle.

JemimaMuddledUp · 05/08/2013 21:19

For anyone who is a Superdrug skincare fan lots of their ranges are currently 2 for £4. Including (my favourite) Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser, which is normally £4.99.

Mind you, the offer didn't come up on the till despite being on the shelf edge. And the sales assistant who supposedly went to check the shelf edge came back saying that there was no offer there. So I very helpfully went back to look myself and brought the shelf edge sign back to the till, at which point they honoured the promotion Hmm

BTW does anyone have any recommendations for a cheaper mascara that works well? Have been using No7 for years but wondered whether there was anything cheaper worth trying.

LadyBigtoes · 05/08/2013 21:23

Vaseline is my top one. I have been asked several times what "eye cream" I use as I'm not too wrinkly in that area for 43 - it's just vaseline morning and night. Also use it on lips and eyebrows, hard skin on feet and dry patches.

VenusSurprising · 05/08/2013 21:25

Agree Mach 3 razors for men are brilliant for legs: I also use conditioner!!

Vaseline in the little metal tins aloe is great for putting up your nose to trap pollen.

I use coconut oil and argan oil (edible grade) on my hair.

And back to Nivea for body. And baby oil when I'm still in the bath, before I dry off to give a quick moisturise. Cheap as chips.

What aldi products do people find good - am heading that way tomorrow and could do with some cheap(good) stuff!

TheYamiOfYawn · 05/08/2013 21:31

I like the Aldi touch eclat copy, and also the day and night cream. Their BB cream looked dreadful on me.

Safmellow · 05/08/2013 21:33

Boots natural collection blusher in 'sweet cheeks'. Three for a fiver.

I use Aldi pressed powder and it's fine, nothing special but good for the price.

Best mascara is Max Factor 2000 Calorie which I have used for years. Think the last one I bought was £5.99 on special offer.

Really miss Max Factor erace concealer - matched my skin tone exactly.

gaggiagirl · 05/08/2013 21:34

W7 liquid eyeliner its about £1 and its amazing and lasts all day.

Aldi day cream

Aldi baby wipes in the green packet smell of coconut and remove eye make up well.

JemimaMuddledUp · 05/08/2013 21:47

I might go and have a look at the Max Factor 2000 Calories mascara, I think they are on 3 for 2 in Superdrug.

Has anyone tried the Max Factor Smooth Effects Foundation? I like a really light foundation, have used No7 Intelligent Colour for years but like the mascara I would like to find something less expensive.

JustBecauseICan · 05/08/2013 21:50

The Aldi serum supposedly came top in blind testing over stuff that costs ££££££s. (I am also aiming to get to an Aldi soon!)

Loads of discontinued Max factor/Revlon/Maybelline type stuff on those discount online makeup sites.

LaTrucha · 06/08/2013 08:20

JustBecauseIcan - thanks for the Naissance tip off. Looks good.

ZingWidge · 06/08/2013 08:27

E45 cream for many skin problems - not sure if it's considered cheap, but unbeatable.

Vaseline for dry lips and red, sore nose after/during a cold and also to heal cracked, dry skin on fingers

onlysettleforbutterflies · 06/08/2013 14:32

I have just been out and bought a few of the things recommended on this thread, thanks

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/08/2013 14:37

Baby oil for eye make up remover, I've been using the same bottle for over 3 years.

Parmarella · 06/08/2013 14:44

Baby oil removes eye make up.

It can also then give you the puffiest eyes ever seen by next morning.

Would not recommend it for eyes really if you have even mildly sensitive skin

jimjamspam · 06/08/2013 14:45

Nivea creme - I like the nivea soft but the traditional blue one is a very good moisturiser for very dry skin

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 06/08/2013 16:06

I use johnsons baby oils for removing mascara, its the only thing that gets it all off easily and that doesn't sting my eyes, only need a dribble on a cotton pad and away it goes. love the aldi eye cream in the pump bottle. coconut oils for cleansing and hair mask.

gerbilsarefun · 06/08/2013 17:02

I bought some Henara intensive treatment wax, £1.50 from Poundstretcher. Brilliant, makes my hair soft and swishy (naturally wavy/frizzy) when I used it with straighteners.

I love my £14.99 Remington straighteners, I've never used GHDs but these do a great job.

Rohey · 06/08/2013 19:49

Gerbilsarefun tell me more re: henara.. Seen it about and never understood how to use it etc...

Is it like using a hair mask or coconut oil?

Rohey · 06/08/2013 19:51

Just to add Epsom salt..
Excellent exfoliant. In addition I combine with conditioner and rinse off after 5 mins. Hair is soft and volumised..

98percentchocolate · 06/08/2013 19:59

Anything by "Witch" is great. I love the primer and bb creams.
