Dungarees are WRONG...aren't they?

Tell me they are.

I've seen a pair on the Next Directory site...and they've stirred something within me. I've never worn dungarees. I've never even worn Next. But I think I want them. They look so comfy and free and happy.

Tell me I'm wrong and I need to go and have a nice lie down.

I luuuuurve dungerees...had some in college and lived in them till they literally fell to pieces (altho I was still trying to wear them then so they had to be physically removedGrin)

Tried some again in between babies 2 & 3 (and at that point was a size 6/8) {{{whistfully remebering those days}}} and for some reason looked positively horrifying in them and DH threatened to have me admittedShock.

Now.....I think I may give people nightmares should I try them Wink

DD2 (10) loves em too, and has some and she looks really good in them, but they suit her personality perfectly.

I was thrilled to have boys tho to do the dungerees and fullfill my need...now very sad that both are now too big to look anything other than odd:(

so very Envy of anyone who can get away with wearing them and look good!

omg, katierocket. cant believe your sister in law not only wears dungarees but they have winnie the pooh on! how old is she? i could forgive her iie the pooh/tigger embroidered stuff is unforgivable! a bit like grown-ups with the sheep rucksacks!!! not my cup of tea.

zoeuk1 · 13/06/2006 18:17

that should say, i could forgive her if she is under the age of 9yrs old!

i wore dungarees 15 yearts ago after dd was born, i was very thin and they were fitted, so i didnt look preg, they were bright red!, wore them with tye dye shirts.

I wore them years ago was v skinny and young and tanned so wore them with little camisoles etc underneath now would look like fat lump in them so would avoid if over 25 and or a size 10

Spidermama and ShowofHands - you have made me spray wine over my keyboard....

I did love dungies. And they will always have a special place in my fashion-nostalgia. Especially as dh used to particularly like the teeny-vest-top-under-baggy-denim-roll-up-dungies look Wink
But I am deffo too old now.
Snafu, what could be so bad about something which might make you feel ''comfy and free and happy''? (Just don't go near any mumsnetter when you wear them Grin)
