Flattering boardshorts for a short pear shape

I find that for some reason boardshorts make me look even stumpier than I am. But I do like wearing them on holiday to go cycling to the beach and then walk around... Do you know of any that are actually flattering on the more ahem mature lady?

I have never seen them look good on anyone .

I have, but only on pretty young things who don't need them anyway, and that's not me
