She is doing a solo performance this weekend for the first time. Usually she dances in a group and all the make up is done by one person so all the girls in the group look the same. As this is a solo, I will need to do her makeup at home first.

I don't really have stage make up (never needed to buy till now), although I have a few bright glittery type eyeshadows. I am so nervous about the eyeliner bit though. The make up lady usually uses a gel type eyeliner, but she has a perfect hand and it looks great when she does it. I tried with one of my eyeliners (plain kohl type) and there was no comparison Confused. So it seems I need to go and buy some makeup for her. Colours she is wearing is black and lime green. She is very fair with freckles, blond hair and light green eyes. She needs quite heavy makeup for the stage.

They usually do the top eyeliner and bottom with a swirl from the corner of the outer eye (do you know what I mean)...?

And I just looked at the glitter eyeshadow. How does it stay on as its just little compartments of different colour glitter? Do I need to put Vaseline on something on her eye first?

Sorry, I should have taken more notice before with the makeup, but im usually the one faffing over the outfits....

She is 11 and its street dance / hip hop performance.

I tend up keep things quite simple. As she is fair & freckle a foundation to even skin tone out/give a bit of colour. I was really lucky in that when I was buying make up for myself the lady serving me had a daughter who danced do she gave me a sample bottle for dd to use.

Then a pinky blusher we use a Boots no 7 I've. Looks really bright but isn't on stage.

For eye shadows duped rug make up Academy is brilliant. Colour shows up really well costs £1 each!!!!! Lots of sparkly colours, there's a turquoise one we really like. We don't usually bother with eyeliner, just mascara but if you do a gel one with a bit if sparkle is easier. Usually dd is doing ballet in the same show where they are very natural do we can't go too sparkly.

Stay clear if those glitter pots. They are very messy, not effective and a right pain.
