Converse sizes

My friend is in the States and is going to buy me a pair of converse. I'm a uk size 6, or a European 39. What size would I be in American shoe sizes? I read somewhere that converse are big so would I need a smaller size than normal?

Converse have US, UK and euro sizes written on the inside of the tongue so she can just get you a UK 6, which from memorynis a US 8 but she can just ckeck the inside of the tongue.

I am the same size as you. I just order UK6, as Mrs RS says they have all three sizes in them. They don't come up big imho, I buy unisex/mens as I have wide feet but a 6 is a 6 ime :)

They don't come up big...I'm generally a 6.5 if i can get them, but otherwise would get away with 6 in shoes...but in converse I need a 7

Dd has to size up because the foot bed is shallow for her at the toe end.

I'd defo go for your normal size - I listened to advice saying to size down, so I did, only to have to return them for my normal size - UK5, EU38.

Can you go anywhere and try them on? I bought some today, unisex. I am usually size 6, euro 39 and these ones are marked UK 5.5, Euro 38. I tried the size 6 and they were very big around the top of the foot. I have wide feet.
