Raincoats for children

Both of mine have had 2 years' worth of Hatley raincoats, which have been lovely, but sadly they're now a bit too big for them, and they're not massively keen on the larger styles available. I've had a bit of a browse, and quite like the look of the Fun Mac at Boden for DD (8) www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Girls-1H-12yrs-Coats-Jackets/35100-DBL/Girls-1H-12yrs-Violet-Blue-Stencil-Flower-Fun-Mac.html, although a bit stumped on DS (v tall 6). Have been mooting this, but thought I'd come on here to see if anyone had any recommendations or reviews? pinterest.com/pin/283023157805506115/

Hi carrie, I really like trespass. They're not as cute looking as boden but they are reasonably priced and properly waterproof.

Thanks QC, I'll show them to DC later tonight and see if any take their fancy. DD is getting increasingly picky, and unfortunately her taste is questionable at best. At least DS will basically wear whatever you shove at him still.

Abdolutely go for proper outdoor shop waterproof s as soon as they fit. You get way more for your money.

My DDs have Regatta isotex breatherble jackets about to enter their third year of being thrown in cars, rucksacks and in DD1s case draged up swiss mountains and they still look fine.

Im sure they came from go outdoors, but the kids stuff on the web isn't as good as the shop.

Also Gloucester quays outlet mall has mountain life and other outdoor suppliers who have childrens sizes with very good discounts, so I guess other similar places might.

Well worth a trip as waterproofs all feel and fit differently and DC sleeve lenths are crazy.

Thanks SBB, you're right on fit. We're off on holibobs on Saturday, so won't be able to get to a shop before then anyway, and am saving all the back to school shopping for our return (woo-hoo.)
