Good value everyday mascara

I need a new mascara - I have several but none of them are great, and when I look for a new one in the aisles of Boots or Superdrug I am overwhelmed by the hundreds of subtly different alternatives. I just stand there, picking up and putting back for fifteen minutes and then walk out with a tube of toothpaste.

What do you lot use? Preferably not 25 quid Chanel if poss.

I swear by Max Factor Masterpiece. I've tried loads of more expensive ones but none are as good.

L'Oréal million volume here too. Every time I try a new one I'm disappointed and go back the this one.

carrie74 · 29/07/2013 11:22

Maybelline Great Lash here, don't even bother trying others anymore.

A heated lash curler makes a difference ime. It makes most mascaras look better.

JackieTheFart · 29/07/2013 14:26

I like the Maybelline Falsies one - but actually, the Sporty Girl one (it's in a hot pink tube, can't remember the name) is just as good.

I always curl, that is the best thing to do, but had no luck with a heated one. I just use a bog-standard curler, curl and tilt upwards a couple of times. Lasts throughout the day.

Loreal volume million lashes here too

valiumredhead · 29/07/2013 20:23

No 7 lash adapt

superlambanana · 29/07/2013 20:31

I like my body shop one. Hate maybelline as it always ends up giving me panda eyes.

Sorry that was meant to say maybelline falsies is my gota mascara if im on a budget

Secretswitch · 03/08/2013 00:35

I love Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara. Excellent volume, seems to last all day without smudging.

Cheesyslice · 03/08/2013 01:20

Maybelline Falsies. Bloody brilliant.

I used to be a Lancôme fan but then realised I was paying £18 for a mascara which dried up in a few weeks Hmm

AlwaysSleepingBeauty · 03/08/2013 12:40

Max Factor False Lash is my favourite and I have used far more expensive ones previously.

bishboschone · 04/08/2013 13:26

Boots natural collection for £2 is a very good every day mascara .

BestIsWest · 04/08/2013 18:18

Tesco Make-up by Barbara Daly Smudge Proof Mousse mascara. £7.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/08/2013 18:33

I noticed Bourjois have a 3 for 2 in Boots and Superdrugs at the moment. They get good reviews.

My pet hate is mascaras that aren't sealed. You don't know if they've been opened or tested Angry

CorrieDale · 04/08/2013 19:30

I have just bought the 2000 calorie too on mn recommendation. It gives a nice natural look which is great for the daytime but a bit underwhelming for a night out. My last mascara though was benefit's 'yes they're real'. I have quite long eyelashes anyway and by golly they did look false with that mascara! I never used it during the day - waay too much oomph for a wahm! And £20 for a mascara that I only use once a month seemed a bit excessive.
