children's clothes for a funeral

I hope someone can help.
DH's gran died a few days. it is sad for the family, but she had been ill for a long time.
I have two children, age 2 and 3 months. I am not taking them to the crematorium as I don't feel it is right for us but we will go to the wake/reception afterwards. I was planning to wear black but not sure about the children. I had though normal clothes but nothing too bright or silly. Just plain t shirt, trousers etc

what do you think?

I think whatever you choose will be fine.

Normal clothes that are reasonably smart I'd say. Dd2 wore her x,as dress to her great grandmas funeral (she was 9?- the dress was dark purple velvet).

When our children went to a wake DD1 wore a black velvet skirt and a lilac top, DD2 wore a grey dress with a grey/lilac patterned top underneath.

DS went to the funeral (his choice) and wore a suit he already had. We did buy him a black tie.

I don't think anyone will expect young children to wear black.
When my FIL died last November we let the children wear clothes that they felt comfortable in at the funeral,so they ended up in smart normal clothes but not particularly dark. In fact my DH didn't want to wear black either,he wore a blue shirt as it was his Dad's favourite colour.

Yes, normal - not too bright, clothes are fine.
