Bronzers - how do you use them?

I am about to go on holiday and am thinking about getting a bronzer after reading a thread on here. But how to do you use them and which areas do you apply it to?

I do the shape of a 3 on each side of my face.
Along my forehead, round to the fat bit of my cheek, then round the side of my chin.
Then mirror image this on the other side and a bit down the centre of my nose.

I apply over pressed powder and lighly go over all of my face with the brush. I knock off excess powder on the lid before applying
