Childrens clothes

Hi all...newbie here...I may have posted this in the wrong place...

I wanted to get your opinions on childrens clothes.

I have seen a lot of 'nearly new' shops pop up recently and wondered what you thought about the second hand clothes market. I am always under the impression that second hand clothes were never good enough until I recently saw the amount of branded good quality (some never worn) clothing at a car boot sale recently. this has swayed my opinion some what and just wondered what the general consensus is. Would you buy second hand / nearly new clothes for your kids?, what would put you off buying nearly new?, if you do regularly shop nearly new do you have a particular brand you stick with?

Absolutely, especially when younger and they really don't get much wear out of their clothes. Mine are older now (8 tomorrow and 6), and on the whole they trash their clothes before growing out of them, but some of their Boden things (a) last 2 seasons and (b) wash well so hold their value.

I tend to buy for the children Boden, Gap and H&M. The H&M stuff is generally just fun, easy fashion, but doesn't generally last, Gap stuff usually lasts well but doesn't necessarily have decent resale, and Boden lasts well, and re-sells well (but I find it a bit expensive in the first place).

hi Carrie, happy birthday to the one turning 8 tomorrow.

Good to hear about the brands you go for...Except for Boden, does anyone else go for online brands?, or would you only stick with high street?

I buy the odd 2nd hand item but I sell lots of the dc's clothes, mostly dd's. Catimini, Pampolina, etc all sell well on ebay
