It's not on their website- must be old stock Grin

I thought it looked a little long. Most of the time she goes 2 inches too short but this one verged on frumpy. Not keen on the puffy/gathered shoulder on a mature woman- I avoid being round about her age.

MissBeehiving · 24/07/2013 13:27

Thought it was entirely occasion appropriate and not frumpy. The shoes weren't great though. Camilla looked uber frumpy, I much prefer her in hairy tweeds.

polyhymnia · 24/07/2013 13:46

On age, I'd guess she's had 'work done' to her face.
Im not a fan personally (not because of her background - that's a point in her favour IMO). But do like some of her clothes and that dress was nice and understated .

polyhymnia · 24/07/2013 13:47

Actually, donagree the puffy, girly shoulders not a goodidea on the ungirlish.

Picturesinthefirelight · 24/07/2013 14:00

I liked it. It reminds me. Lot of the style of dresses I like to wear from the Rocha range in Debenhans.

Angeletta · 24/07/2013 14:24

I loved it, disappointed but not surprised to hear that it's out of my price range. I have three tea dresses but they are from M&S (both about £40 each) and Florence and Fred (£18).

I was also interested by similarities between Kate and Carole's outfits - both blue dresses with small white motifs, although very different in style.

Wish my waist was as small as Carole's.

missbopeep · 24/07/2013 15:36

I think it's odd to assume she's had work done on her face.
I've friends a year or two either side of CM and none look their age- in fact we all look younger than she does.

Capitola · 24/07/2013 15:41

I thought it was a nice dress, age appropriate.

All those Middleton women dress er, 'maturely' - I could see all of them wearing it.

RonaldMcDonald · 24/07/2013 15:43

Right, I don't mean to be a cah but I thought that dress was a lovely colour but ultimately something one might have sourced fromLaRedoute or M&S
£335 worth, it was not

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/07/2013 15:43

I don't think she's had work done either.

My Mum is older than her by a few years and looks younger than Carol does.

I think it is a really lovely dress, the shade of blue is gorgeous.

eurozammo · 24/07/2013 15:45

I thought it looked a little frumpy, to be honest. She looks great in jeans and wedding type suits and hats. This wasn't as good as the stuff she usually wears.

missbopeep · 24/07/2013 15:50

She looks the age she is- she's not especially youthful for 58 but most of the time dresses in a more youthful way. Her upper eyelids are very droopy, but I'd say she has had work done on her teeth- either braces or veneers and def. whitening- but good for her!

RoseFlowerFairy · 24/07/2013 17:51

I don't think she has had much work done, maybe some dental help. She looks her age, so if she had spent money on having work done, either it was no good or she would look a mightly fright without it.

AKissIsNotAContract · 24/07/2013 17:58

She's definitely had her teeth done. I thought it was common knowledge that she's had breast implants too.

missbopeep · 24/07/2013 18:12

Common knowledge she's had a boob job? Since when? And how do you know?

AKissIsNotAContract · 24/07/2013 18:15

Well I haven't felt her tits so I don't actually know, but it's been mentioned lots of times on celeb plastic surgery websites etc.

chubbymomie2012 · 24/07/2013 18:41

Thanks (i think:-))
i loved the dress im early forties and thought it was elegants. However my entire wardrobe costs the price of that dress! hopefully Tesco will bring out their version since this is the only chance i get to shop lol.

Cant wait till my kids have grown and i can be a glamourous granny.

Carol M u looked fab and handled the occasion admirably.

may I suggest as a business idea.........." Im the future kings Granny" t shirt range. ;-)

A woman of her age, getting a boob job? Shock he is ready for her buspass!

shinytoe · 24/07/2013 18:54

She has a teeeeny waist. If I actually had boobs as well as a small waist I'd look a lot better in wrap dresses like that

missbopeep · 24/07/2013 20:01

Her waist isn't that tiny. If you look carefully, the tie on that dress is well above the normal waistline- it's mid way between under the bust ( empire line) and her waist. On most women that is their narrowest area.
I noticed that when the wind blew her dress and flattened it against her middle, she did have a bit of a tummy - not a lot but not like a washboard.

RoseFlowerFairy · 24/07/2013 20:27

The Middleton Woman have triangle figures, they are very wide at the shoulder, and get narrower to their narrowest part, their hips.

holidaybug · 25/07/2013 20:45

It's a gorgeous dress. I don't normally look up what the Middletons wear but I did yesterday as I was thinking of getting one myself.

I think Carol Middleton looks great and sometimes wears more fashionable clothes than her daughters IMO.

holidaybug · 25/07/2013 20:49

FWIW I think Carol looks great for her age IMO but in any case, some people do age better than others - a lot of it is down to genes, lifestyle and a measure of good luck. But come on sisters, we don't have the same discussions about men showing their age do we?
