Teeth whitening: worth it?

£200, trays overnight for a fortnight. Does it make enough of a difference (without frightening anyone) to be worth it? I could just about afford it - but does it mean an end to black coffee? And red wine?

My parents both had it done and it made a massive difference to my dad's teeth, which were very yellow, but not much difference to my mum's, which were only a bit yellow. So I reckon worth it if they are very discoloured.

Yes! I have just done it and my teeth look soooo much better (plus the dentist re-did my old fillings)

She said that if you keep them as clean as poss, you will only have to re-do after a year or so. And that is only the cost of the syringes - £7 each at our dentist. It is the trays that are expensive.

Thank you for replies - I'll see what the hygienist can do first, I think. It's been ahem a few years since I last went...
