Personal shopper experiences?

Are personal shoppers any good?

I'm currently on mat leave, due to return to work in October and I'm having a bit of an identity crisis.
I'm currently about two dress sizes bigger than I'd like and I feel I don't know what to wear any more.

I'm ok in casual mat leave stuff but work wear, I don't know where to start.

I'm working on the body shape (still breast feeding so some size may change naturally when I stop) by exercising but I don't want to kid myself on that I'm going to be slimmer and looking fab on my return to work.

I'm thinking about going for a personal shopper to 'style me' can anyone recommend where is best?

I've got house of Fraser, debenhams and JL handy.

HoF & JL both really good, JL maybe has the edge?

I had some great advice and suggestions from a French guy who was a stylist in Debenhams Oxford Street. Selfridges is terrible though OMG. So bad, don't even think about it. You could also go to Jigsaw as they often have staff that are helpful. It is worth a try, good luck. Keep to a budget as your body is changing so don't go mad.

I've done it in Debenhams and John Lewis. I found the experience the same in both stores tbh. It depends on your budget and what concessions you're likely to wear. I'd probably favour Debenhams if I was going for a wardrobe update, but JL if it was for a special occasion outfit.

But definitely do it as you'll come out with a great capsule wardrobe that makes you look fab! I used to go to Debenhams twice a year and had some lovely clothes that didn't all look the same. HTH

I also had a good experience in Debenhams to be fair but it was a few years ago. Not sure I'm personally as keen on their range these days.

Last summer I saw loads of stuff in the JL sale that I would def have bought if I needed smart workwear - bit too smart for my lifestyle though.

I went to Debenhams recently. She picked out things that I would never have picked up but it really taught me what shape suits me. I'm definitely going back in the winter.

thanks. sounds like lots of positive experiences, I am definitely going to do it.

Is it worth going in to jL & debenhams to see which i prefer in general terms?

Also what do you think is a reasonable budget for a capsule wardrobe?
