Anyone good with nails?

My toenails are in a horrendous state! They're weak, peeling and slightly off colour (sorry if I've made anyone feel ill!) Whereas my fingernails are in fine condition! I've recently started putting white Esse nail varnish on my toenails to disguise the horrendousness but if anything its made them worse.

So my questions are:

  • can anyone recommend a treatment/solution to make nails stronger, smoother and healthier
  • does nail varnish damage nail condition and therefore is there something I should put on before applying it? Or are there some moisturising nailvarnishes out there?

I'm completely clueless, thanks so much for any help!

I vaguely remember someone suggesting rubbing in vics for this onto the toenails.
I might be wrong but did mean to try it myself.

I am a beauty therapist. Do you have polish on your toes all the time? Formaldehyde & another chemical toluene will dry out the nail bed. Try using an acetone free remover & you can get nail polish free of these chemicals.

Try rubbing the nail with a 3-4 way buffer. One side is rougher then you use each side until the last one leaves the nail smooth & shiny.

Leave polish off for a week or too. Rub in a nail oil like Solar oil.
