leander · 07/06/2006 15:00

not doesnt look chic it looks bloody stupid but its fun and the kids enjoy itSmile

nutcracker · 07/06/2006 15:01

Blimey some of you are so stuck up, it's a bit of fun you know.

Our house is currently sporting one large England flag and some buntin (sp?)

My kids are so excited about the whole thing and thats all that matters. Have no money to buy them England stuff to wear so they will just wear red and white probably.

Even their school are entering in to it, the theme of this years carnival is the world cup.

oliveoil · 07/06/2006 15:03

my house is up for sale at the moment and so are 3 others near me

they all have flags and look crap

in my humble opinion

I will sell to a Scot!

zippitippitoes · 07/06/2006 15:15

It's a celebration and support ...it's an occasion! Grin

Agree with nutcracker as well.

Ds1's school bus is covered in flag bunting. The children like it. They tried to attach some flags to the outside as well but they kept falling off.

The Cup World Final as my ds 4 puts it has taken a grip of him. Too much exposure to the tv me thinks (oh I wonder where he is now) Blush I conceded and bought a little England T shirt from Woolies for £4. he's pleased with it! Just contemplating a tasteful magnetic England badge for the Motor cos I dont fancy the flag malarky.

LadyTophamHatt · 07/06/2006 17:35

But what happens to all this stuff when engalnd get knocked out in the group stages?

Millions of naff t-shirts all used for dish cloths!!!

tenalady · 07/06/2006 17:36

knocked out in the first match Grin

YellowFeathers · 07/06/2006 17:36

I tell you what really gets me with it all is that the majority of the women that wear the clothes or stick those bloody stupid flags on the car normally hate football!

and why is it that this seems to be the only thing that people are patriotic about?
Theres never this much hoo haa when the Olympics are on. Yes people watch and support but not like football and IMO they have far more talent than these bloody footballers.

Sorry am on one today.

tenalady · 07/06/2006 17:37

WEll I spose we havent got much else to be patriotic about. We are as patriotic as the adverts make us. Lets face it, we wouldnt of been chatting about this without all the marketing hype.

YellowFeathers · 07/06/2006 17:41

Very true.
It is all media hyped up crap if you ask me.

Does anyone really care if Wayne Rooneys met-a-whotsit has healed?
Theres god knows how many more players to go at FFS!

Just my opinion though.

zippitippitoes · 07/06/2006 18:43

Olympics is boring to watch though..as is all athletics, tennis, swimming, rugby etc

fin54 · 07/06/2006 21:49

Would everyone be asking the same question if it was SCOTLAND in the worl cup HAHA no I don't think so, I'm sick of hearing about ENGLAND and the world cup and its not even started yet but then again I'm Scottish as well.

Rhubarb · 07/06/2006 21:50

Where's Scotland?

Snafu · 07/06/2006 21:51

It's a small town in Sweden isn't it?
