No no way am I letting DP or the kids go out in anyhting with flag on and will nothave one on the car and will call all my mates who do CHAVS!!!!

(I do like the scarf though - but that just the national colours!!)

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 07/06/2006 12:59

My boys both have full England kits and they look super cute in them so there Grin

(although admittidly I didnt buy them)

Twinkie1 · 07/06/2006 13:00

Little boys do look cute in them - 30 year old women??????

(Only car flags are chavs anyway IMO - have already targetted 2 of bestest friends!!!!!!!)

SHHHH · 07/06/2006 14:05

I think it's totally chav for adults esp women BUT I have given in and got dd a footie top today. It's not a footie kit etc just a pain and simple top from next (yep I do know some of your view on next..Wink)..It's pink and has the 3 lions logo on the front..very simple and subtle imo. AND it keeps dh happy Grin..!!

Womens stuff though...nnooooooooooo..

leander · 07/06/2006 14:08

Im a 30 yr old woman and I have an england top as do my Dh Ds and DD,I am not a chav i just love football..........anything wrong with that?

oliveoil · 07/06/2006 14:11

don't football tops make woman look really fat and shapeless?

zippitippitoes · 07/06/2006 14:12

only if they are fat and shapeless! Smile

leander · 07/06/2006 14:13

not if you buy a womens one which is shaped ie pulled in at the waist

SHHHH · 07/06/2006 14:14

oliveoil yes they do. Leaner don't mean to offend, purely agreeing with this link that footie seems to go ott with womens clothing. I mean what bloke has "im an england bloke" on his pj's or a union jack thong..???

Footie shirts are ok but are completely differnt to footie/worldcup clothing as shown below by cod.

JackieNo · 07/06/2006 14:15

Was chatting to a woman waiting for DD to come out of school yesterday, and she said 'I want [her son, who's in reception] to get 'England' cut into the back of his hair, but he won't. He's scared of the clippers'. Good for himGrin.

SHHHH · 07/06/2006 14:16

can't comment about the wearer being fat and shapeless as i've never bought one Grin.

Bozza · 07/06/2006 14:16

I do find a lot of the England clothing tacky. I let DS wear his England kit every day that it is clean but then he does play football every day just now. Out in the garden with a goal and no heads on the flowers. I do however think that he has a bit of overkill on England clothes that people have bought him - long sleeve tops, polo shirts, jacket etc so don't really encourage him to wear these. Will hae to try and get the orange stain out of his shirt by Saturday I suppose.

For me I just couldn't bring myself to wear any of it...

oliveoil · 07/06/2006 14:17

sorry, didn't mean my post to come across calling you all lard arses!

What I meant was, the shirts are a bit baggy and shapeless, not the woman underneath.

Liz Hurley would look like a bus in one imo

oliveoil · 07/06/2006 14:18

dh has an England top which he wears in the house

on pain of death does he step out the door in it

SHHHH · 07/06/2006 14:18

oliveoil lol.Grin

Well i am obviously in the minority but I think if a woman wants to wear football gear then she should, she shouldnt have to 'listen' to other people slagging off the said clothing,I know you will say that i dont have to read the threads but I am sick of these threads by people who have never made a fashion mistake and obviously look fabulous all the time slagging other people off about what they should or shouldnt wearAngry

oliveoil · 07/06/2006 14:26

oh fgs

aragon · 07/06/2006 14:26

Not buying any clothing. I was, however, very tempted by the England styled buggy in Mothercare. White buggy with red cross complete with matching sun canopy.Grin

zippitippitoes · 07/06/2006 14:26

Tessa Jowell will buy them..she has flags on her ministerial car too, and David Cameron has one on his bike and on match days T.Blair is flying one over Downing Street!

LadyCodofCOdford · 07/06/2006 14:27

WelshBoris · 07/06/2006 14:28

talking about mothercare- leander you read the catalouge lately?

tiredemma · 07/06/2006 14:31

i remember buying a top from gap for the last world cup, on the front it said "SHOW ME YOUR TACKLE" - oh how i want to curl up and die when i get the photos out from our visit to legoland in said top that summer.
I dont know what on earth possessed me to buy it, it did make me look really chubby and shapeless. I shall decline this year and just stick to basic muffin tops.

leander · 07/06/2006 14:32

Cod no need to be so rude,im not a bint,

WelshBoris · 07/06/2006 14:33

leander have you read the new mothercare catalogue?
