Another bra thread, sorry...need help!

I'm still trying to figure out what size I am Confused

I ordered two Curvy Kate bras in 30D from the Brastop sale after somebody mentioned it on here. They are gorgeous! One was clearly too small in the cup so I'm returning it. I re-ordered this one in 30DD along with a couple of others in that size.

The other I thought was fine, so cut off the tag and wore it yesterday to work. The band felt fine, really supportive, didn't ride up when I lifted my arms. BUT by halfway through the day the wires were cutting in at the sides of my breasts, which was uncomfortable, and at the front, in between them, which was REALLY uncomfortable. It was sort of pressing on my breastbone. Couldn't wait to get it off Sad

Anyway, the second order, of 30DDs, arrived today, and all are pressing uncomfortably on my breastbone in the same way. So my question (before I re-order again!) is: is this a sign the band is too small? It seems to fit fine and doesn't feel too tight anywhere else Confused. Do I just have a weirdly bony chest or something? What size should I try next? I'm thinking 32D? These bras are soooo pretty, I just want some that fit Grin

Measurements if it helps: 29.5 under, 33 over.

OK, which style of CK did you order/try?

CKs usually come up big in the band and small in the cup so I very much doubt that you need a 32. This could be a style issue. What shape are your boobs? Are they wide/narrow, high/low set on your chest? Are they fuller at the top or bottom? How wide is the gap between them?

JazzDalek · 13/07/2013 11:54

The one I wore all day was this one:
www.brastop.com/SetDetails.aspx?setId=3670&Product=Curvy_Kate_Showgirl_Tease_Me_Bra_Powder_Blue

Also tried:
www.brastop.com/SetDetails.aspx?setId=4532&Product=Curvy_Kate_Princess_Bra_Red/Black

As for my boobs: pretty average I think in terms of where they sit on my chest; fuller at the bottom, they lost volume after pregnancy/breastfeeding. Gap between is a couple of cm.

Hmmm, I didn't get on with the Princess and haven't tried the Tease Me. I do, however have an old Thrill Me and I did find it a bit uncomfortable on the rib cage and actually did some gentle bending of the wires to make them more my 'shape'. Not to be recommended unless you're definitely keeping the bra of course!

If you scoop, do you get any overspill in the cup?

JazzDalek · 13/07/2013 12:14

Overspill: yes, definitely. I don't have much to scoop, but if I lean forward and hoick it all in my nipples come out the top, which I why I went up to DD in the second order.

The Tease Me I have worn, so have to keep, so might try adjusting the wires!

Sounds like you need a bigger cup but they just might not be the best styles for you. What other bras have you tried?

JazzDalek · 13/07/2013 12:56

None really! Day to day I just wear M&S plain t-shirt bras - they are 32C and comfortable, but I have them on the tightest hooks and they're still not really snug. I mean, they're better than my old bras but not wow, you know?

Funds are tightish so I can't buy anything expensive, nor can I order loads to try on even if I then return most - hence what I'm doing, ordering two or three greatly reduced and hoping for the best!

I think you must be right and it's a style thing. I am a bit clueless about bra styles...my pre-kids lovely pert boobs looked good in anything, but post-kids nothing has REALLY worked for me. The Tease Me bra linked above does look fabulous Confused

Thank you for helping Smile
