I must have this bra measurement thing wrong?

Must admit, I have paid a lot if attention to bra threads. So I may have this wrong. But measure tightly under boobs, then lean forward and take fullest measurement around boobs. Because that gives me 38, 46.

Surely I am doing this wrong? If not I'll give you all a laugh with what I'm currently wearing as a bra size!

Well actually 37, 46 - but I round up to a 38?

36G or 36GG or maybe 38F

What are you wearing now? I'm pg at the moment but after bf has calmed down I can't wait to see what my new bra size is.

pingulingo · 13/07/2013 10:30

I'm in a 40c - not an underwire tho, I have a couple of d/dd in those - but they were last worn before I had baby.

Am chuffing amazed and am off to go try on bras - although in my head I still can't see how there won't be oodles if space in a gg - am looking forward to being astounded.

Shall report back later!

Enjoy your bra shopping and hope you find something amazing!

AntoinetteCosway · 13/07/2013 10:34

Yes I'd say try 36GG, 36H, 38G and 38GG.

SorrelForbes · 13/07/2013 11:24

The volume on a 36GG is roughly the same as the volume on a 40FF. You must be spilling out of the cups of your 40Cs?

pingulingo · 13/07/2013 15:21

I don't have 4 boobs in my current bra, but they are quite full cup bras, I did think my boobs were looking less pert - ok hoping they are being strapped down by the too small cup tho.

I was aware my old underwire (half cup?) bras were def too small and there was a risk of spillage. Which is why I got the tape measure out this morning

I went out to shops but thanks to toddler meltdown I'm back early. So will go for an online shop this evening

Full cups, especially soft cups, can hide a multitude of bra sins. You don't get the obvious spillage in the same way sometimes - just a bra that becomes increasingly useless!
