Post pregnancy jeans

I've just had a baby (she's nearly a month) and I'm desperate to get out of the saggy maternity jeans I'm still wearing and into something a bit more stylish and fashionable and flattering and that fits: mission impossible! I'm almost back to pre-pregnancy size (10/12) everywhere except my belly. My waist is bigger than it was and it's all a bit flabby around that general area. I also have a few stretch marks under the belly button. I think I'm probably going to be a 14 in jeans at the mo to accommodate tummy but I have skinny legs, so skinny jeans that fit the tummy / waist may look baggy on my legs and therefore stupid. I'm thinking high waisted to tuck my tummy into, anything low slung would be just wrong right now and there's the risk of flashing the stretch marks. Also not sure about style - skinny, bootleg??. Pre-pregnancy I wore French Connection skin tight jeans, All Saints jeans or MiH skinny jeans. I loved anything and everything from Aubin & Wills - lovely (size 10 - sob) chinos were my staple last year or Whistles - although their Charlie jeans never fitted properly. I don't want to spend loads as I'm hoping to get back to the gym / yoga in a couple if months and lose the belly, slim down the waist. So thinking h&m, top shop or new look or sale? LO is very clingy and a constant feeder so shopping / trying things on is near impossible. Think it may be an Internet shopping expedition just to make things even trickier.

Help!

Contraptions on your LO. Im a couple of months ahead of you and have just caved and purchased some New Look Jeggings after several of my NCT group reccomended them. They are only £15 so won't feel too bad if I'm not in them for long.

Maybe try some high waist jeans? This will avoid the ultimate mummy sin of bending over and bottom flashing which can be seen at baby groups Grin I have had them from next and the gap before?

Good support knickers are the way to go. I would go for some high waisted jeans. Don't spend too much as your shape will continue to change. Your babys only a month old...

Asos Ridley high waisted jeans are my post preggers staple! They're soft and skinny with a high waist so they do up at your thinnest point.

Oh and they're £28 full price but a few colours are in the sale at the moment.

Thanks ladies! Two pairs of Ridley jeans and a denim shirt dress ordered from Asos - amazing what you can do whilst feeding :) Thanks for all the tips and suggestions! Thanks

Hope they fit!

Ridley jeans turned up yesterday... They fit like a glove!! Big smile on my face this morning. And as I opted for a pale grey pair and a green pair they were cheap too. Really pleased and only one size up from pre-pregnancy size does a little victory skinny jean clad bum shake! They really are super flattering and glad to have mummy tummy tucked away. Thanks for the top tip karin

Yay! Big grin from me - glad they did the trick! (And only one size up too - jealous. I'm still in two sizes up...)

I recommend Topshop Jamie jeans, high waist and stretchy so good fit and comfy. They don't go baggy either!

M&s jeggings aren't bad either.

Congratulations :)
