Hair Straighteners - which ones?

My GHDs gave up the ghost this morning with impressive (and dangerous) sparking and smell of burning. I have a burn on my wrist as a result

I've had them at least 10 years and they've done me well. I need to replace them, but what with? Another set of GHDs? Or is there anything out there that I should try? I imagine the offerings have changed considerably over the years!

I've just ordered L'Oreal Steam Pod. After years of using GHDs my hair is fried and these are apparently kinder to you hair.
