Please help me - I've got a date!!

Advice desperately needed! I have a first date with a man I really like and don't know what on earth to wear.

We are going out for a meal to a nice Italian so blue jean etc are out of the question but don't want to go overboard. Happy to wear a dress or skirt but whatever needs to cover my arms properly.

Ideally I would like to wear flats (got lovely black ballet pumps) but I am 5ft4 with short legs. Any ideas gratefully appreciated!

What's your style normally like? (and your budget!)

keepcalmandkickon · 11/07/2013 00:02

I like stuff to be quite tailored - am curvy (about a size 12) and relatively toned but not waif like. Like pencil skirts, things that emphasis waist and hips, I tend to get a lot of work stuff from Hobbs.

Budget - preferably under £150 but flexible!

Funnily enough I was going to suggest a pencil skirt and a casual but dressy top.... will start hunting....

jasper conran One of those tops that looks phenomenal on some and awful on others

1960s style

Could be lovely with flats.

Why not a midi pencil skirt with a slit? I got one from h and m

That dress is lovely - definitely something to try although I don't think I could pull off that top!!

Thanks Eliot - I was thinking about a pencil skirt.

Just got to brace myself and start shopping I think!
