Anyone bought any nice shorts this summer?

Would like to get some shorts for the summer mid thigh as opposed to knee length. I quite fancy a khaki or navy chino style and maybe a patterned pair.

Link your favourites here! TIA

I got a couple of pairs of the 4" chino shorts from JCrew, they're pretty much spot on.

I just bought some in the Mango sale, reduced from £18 to £9.99

teatimesthree · 08/07/2013 20:57

Banana Republic have some very nice ones as you describe.

threepiecesuite · 08/07/2013 21:03

I got these khaki ones from Dorothy Perkins and they are lovely, made out of nice soft cotton and great fit. Have worn them everyday we've had warm weather.

VivaLeBeaver · 08/07/2013 21:05

Shorts are sold out everywhere, typical.

The dp ones look nice, sold out in most sizes.

The Next autum/winter catalogue arrived today. Hmm

Beginning of July and I can't find any bloody shorts.

ShirleySharpeyes · 08/07/2013 22:54

Banana republic. Every time.

Amazinggg · 09/07/2013 13:03

River Island have quite a few lovely ones in the sale - even if you're not a fan of micro teeny denim number I am because I don't care if my ass terrifies people

wiltingfast · 09/07/2013 13:05

Ah, there's no such thing as "nice shorts". Grin

noyouhavehadawee · 09/07/2013 13:06

SmilingandWaving · 09/07/2013 13:24

I bought two pairs of these yesterday, they're 100% cotton & really comfortable. Can't be bad for £6!

OverAndAbove · 09/07/2013 17:26

I got a really good mid thigh grey pair with a little twisted cuff in Warehouse; I absolutely love them. Sold out now and can't find anything similar (wanted another pair for hols)

charitygirl · 09/07/2013 17:31

I got mid-thigh khakis in Uniqlo - don't think they're online though.

OverAndAbove · 09/07/2013 17:36

Ooh mine are actually in stock but not in my size; will try a link if you're interested (they're in the sale!)

snoworneahva · 09/07/2013 18:41

over your shorts are lovely but I wouldn't call them mid thigh - they'd barely cover my rear! I can never find mid thigh shorts. 9 inch inside leg would work for me!

Laska42 · 09/07/2013 21:58

I got a pair of these from Dorothy Perkins sale today, nice fit, nice length , nice fabric

Laska42 · 09/07/2013 22:00

oh that link is showing navy for some reason ..they are the same shorts but the khaki ones I got are reduced in the sale

Still18atheart · 09/07/2013 22:08

I brought these from next and they had a good selection of other designs but of a similar shape.

Thanks everyone some good suggestions there. I like the j crew ones but not sure if Iwant to spend that much but I might! What's the sizing like? I am uk size 8.
Similarly how do banan republic come up for size are they really big like gap?

OP posts:
SofaCanary · 09/07/2013 22:52

JCrew are generous, definitely take a size down.

There's often some codes knocking about, that's how I bought mine Wink

snoworneahva · 10/07/2013 06:24

The j crew ones come in all lengths - how clever. Smile Thanks

GinOnTwoWheels · 10/07/2013 09:58

I got some nice mid thigh khaki ones from BHS of all places. They were from one of their beachy ranges that looked like it was trying to look like Fat Face IYSWM

carrie74 · 10/07/2013 10:23

Gap have got tonnes in at the moment. I bought a khaki pair at the weekend, but they're not online. Many on sale, some still full price, but cotton, and decent prices. Worth getting to a shop if you can.
