Dyeing shoes

Has anyone successfully dyed white satin shoes and if so did you do it yourself or get it professionally done. I've had my wedding shoes sitting in a box for nearly eight years and to be honest I'm not going to want ivory shoes complete with grass stains again, but they were so comfortable it seems a shame not to wear them with something else.

Yes, I''ve done it, but on an old pair of boots. They look great. I went from light grey to black. If you''re unsure, get your cobbler to do it for you.

Thanks, I shall consider further. Did you immerse them completely?
It's either dye and use them or mothball them until my children are big enough to wear them for dressing-up.

I was a bridemaid who needed a horrible color shoe, so got ivory died by these folks. Asked them to hold the scotch guarding, and then after the wedding, got them taken black.
Can't fault them. If you have gems and things attached, not sure I'd home dye.

No beading or any other embellishment (apart from the grass stains). Thanks for the link.

I just sort of painted the stuff on with a small brush ( included in the packet). Not immaculate, but good enough to give a dirty-looking psirvof boots a new lease of life.

Yes! I had my wedding silk satin embellished Jimmy Choos dyed from white to a dark brown to match another evening dress for another event.

It was professionally done. And they look amazing still even though it was done six years ago.

Google your local services for this or you can get mail order service to do it for you.
