Crap manicure at Champneys

I had my nails done at 10.30am and they're still not completely dry three hours later!!!! In fact, the polish is now such a mess that I think I'm going to take it off. I can't believe what rubbish polish they use - it just doesn't dry.

I was unimpressed with the cleanliness too. I had a body scrub, which involved taking a shower afterwards, and the shower was FILTHY. The whole place just looked tatty, dirty and past it's sell by date. So much for luxury. Anyone else finding Champney's a bit rubbish these days?

I have heard pretty crap things about them, yes. What a waste! Ring up and complain.

juneau · 04/07/2013 14:21

I'm trying to make a complaint. There is nowhere on the website to do this and I've just called them and the woman I'm speaking to also doesn't know how to make a complaint either! Extraordinary!

Okay, very scathing email sent!

I had this once (not there) I think they had diluted the polish to extend its life (you know like the old 'putting nail remover into an old bottle' trick).

Missbopeep · 04/07/2013 15:06

which Champneys was it?

Missbopeep · 04/07/2013 15:07

Wouldn't bother emailing them- write on paper if possible to the MD of that spa.

PMMummy · 04/07/2013 15:08

Twitter is very good for complaints.

St Albans. Can't be arsed to write a paper letter, but I might send a copy of the email I sent to the manager of all the day spas to the manager of the St Albans spa.

The worst manicure I ever had was at henlow grange (champneys), it bubbled and didn't dry, I went back and they re did it. The varnish was put on really really thickly.

juneau · 05/07/2013 19:32

I contacted Nicola Sapsed yesterday and got an out of office reply. Clearly no one checks her emails when she's out as I've heard nothing today.

Yeah, the polish was very thick. It took some serious effort to get it off.

To be fair I had a fab w/e at champneys forest mere- v clean and excellent gluten free bread, so maybe you were unlucky? Or maybe forest mere has a better cleaning team!

I had a poor manicure at Chamneys Tring once but complained on site and they did it again and offered compensation. Good luck.
