PK elasticizer - what did I do wrong?

Having read recommendations on a thread here recently, I used Philip Kingsley Elasticizer for the first time this morning.
But - nothing Sad

I have straight, shoulder length, highlighted, fine (but lots of it) hair. The ends can be crispy and I often have a halo of frizz/flyaway.

I used a small amount (2 x 10p sized blobs) on wet hair, smoothed it on the mid-lengths and ends, popped on a showercap and left it for 25 mins.
I washed and dried as usual (with BBH) and ... meh.
No big wow, flippy-hair, ta-dah effect.
Just as dull and unbouncy and ever.

Should I use more? Leave it on for longer? Does the effect build up with multiple uses?
Please tell me there is hope for my sad hair.

i wasn't impressed with Elasticizer, didn't do much for my hair. Luckily I just bought a trial size.

I have no luck with it either and can't understand why it's so expensive the main ingredient is castor oil. My hair is like yours and I get good results with coconut oil or the Weleda Rosemary oil.

It did nothing for me either, but if you do try again I would certainly towel dry your hair before putting it on (you should do this with every deep condition tbh).

Murraylover · 04/07/2013 21:44

I towel-dry & put a bun in it for 20mins, then rinse, shampoo as usual after. Not tricky & it works for me Grin

A few yrs ago I had some samples just as it was launched in John Lewis. I have long, blonde, straight hair and it did nothing for my hair at all which did surprise me considering the claims and ££ of it!

Does anyone know if the ojon hair mask is any better? Or what can I use in place of pk? I have very very fine hair.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 05/07/2013 07:38

I really love it ! Must just depend on your hair type.
Always use it in holiday.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/07/2013 14:27

PK Elasticisor has a cumulative effect (is that the word? The more you use it the better it gets)

I have the walloping great 1 litre QVC bottle. I used to put it on dry hair, thought meh. Then put on damp hair + clingfilm.
WOW Grin

OJON- I didn't like the effect or the smell (like rubbing your head in an ashtray with coffee slops)
Best thing I found for Ojon was melting in my hands an rubbing through DD bum length hair efore using the Nitty Gritty (nice )

Poor bloke went up the river in a boat to find the People With No Hats for that .

Jammygal · 05/07/2013 14:45

I've tried both and sadly not worth the price tag- but like most things it suits some people more than others!

MissBeehiving · 05/07/2013 17:20

I thought PK was pants. I like Ojon much more and thought it was really good for very dry ends. Am using Kerastase atm which is good too.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 05/07/2013 17:22

Oooo ojon smells like coffee?

EliotNess · 05/07/2013 18:24

ITS CRAP - I KEEP SAYING!

MissBeehiving · 05/07/2013 19:02

No BALD, Ojon smells like fags.

Eliot Grin I KNOW!

SugarSpunSisters · 05/07/2013 19:49

I got the 1l size after someone mentioning the offer on QVC Hmm and I also use it on damp hair with cling film. If your hair is too wet the stuff will get diluted and won't be as good.

I had my hair coloured yesterday and my hairdresser said I could get away with not cutting it as it was in good condition! Usually she makes me have fluffy broken ends cut off - this time there were none Smile

I have fine, bra strap length, big, pouffy wavy hair

SingingSilver · 05/07/2013 19:52

I have it on right now, on towel dried hair and wrapped in clingfilm, thanks MN Smile

I'm going to leave it on, and wash out in the morning, I'm hoping for a good result, but not too hopeful after reading this thread...

BoysAreLikeDogs · 06/07/2013 10:12

Disappointed, smelling o coffee, sexxxxxy, smelling o' fags, not so.

kittysaysmiaow · 06/07/2013 21:24

I was disappointed in the elasticizer too :( used raw coconut oil and it was so much more effective at 10% of the price. I've long, thick hair prone to frizz.

hollyisalovelyname · 06/07/2013 21:46

It did nothing for my hair either
