Hi,
I am 42 (just) size 8-10 (I do a lot of yoga) p-t working mum with 2 small boys and am having a serious style crisis. I want to show off the nice bits of my figure but have a fear of looking muttonish or frumpy - very difficult to get the balance! Can I wear shortish skirts/clingy dresses - have always been a bit of a jeans girl with slightly boho look but am getting urge to wear a dress sometimes and show off my good bits before I'm too old to do so! But I'm in a style quandry and don't really know - is this too muttonish? shop.mango.com/GB/p0/mango/new/dresses/belted-draped-dress/?id=11040187_KL&n=1&s=nuevo&ie=0&m=&ts=1372838739004
or this too frumpy/mumsy www.johnlewis.com/people-tree-opal-block-print-apron-dress-blue/p383387
what do you wear when you're 42 to look stylish, with bit of edge but not too muttony? Not that I am overthinking it or anything!
Views please..

I love the Mango dress, (especially as with a nude belt and nude flats it would be perfect for the school run then work), but not so keen on the John Lewis. It would depend on how it fitted.

Have a look at Isme. They have some lovely dresses for every occassion.

I think they could both be either nice or frumpy depending on the accessories. I'm not a big fan of either though.

I'm nearly 425 as well, I've had a few nice things from fatface that are not frumpy. I've got my eye on this:

Wear what you like! Honestly when you're 85 you'll look back on pictures and wonder what you were worried about.
