Cardigans!

I love cardigans. Can never have too many of them, I say. They're perfect for pulling a look together and make any outfit suitable for cool British weather.

Today, I went to TK Maxx and scored for of them, all priced at £14.99. I got a purple one, a magenta one, and two multi-coloured ones. This brings my total number of cardigans to 23.

I'm not done, though. I still need a kelly/grass green one and a lavender one.

I think I love cardigans the way other women love shoes. Shoes are never a source of joy for me because I've got really big feet (paltry selection at places like TK Maxx) and my feet are very finicky, painful things. So, I buy cardigans.

Who else shares my love?

I have a drawer full of them. My favourite one is a black trimmed biscuit coloured one with flamingos printed on it Grin

Flamingos! That sound awesome.

Yes!! Love a good cardi. If I find an excellent one, I buy in at least 3 colours Wink

I'm not quite in your league OP. But I am in need of one right now... lightweight ,long, red colour. Not a waterfall. Any ideas ?

I do not love cardigans, because I am forced to wear them, but I would love your recommendation for the best place to get a really, really light, thin cardigan.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 03/07/2013 07:19

I don't have any shopping tips for any particular things, because I just scour TK Maxx and charity shops for my clothes. What do you mean by really light and thin? Cotton?

New Look have a range of light thin ones. They come in about 20 colours (of which I have five Wink ) and have those "scoop" pockets if that makes any sense?! Will try to find a link...

Love love love cardigans! Even at 6th form many moons ago I would wear 3 cardigans instead of a coat ( in those days m&s men's were my choice). Now I have about 8 but am always on the look out for more. I'm really after an emerald green one too.

For me I love oasis ones as wash really well. Gap can be good depending in the material and m&s good too. H&m have loads of colours but if wear often like me they don't wash great.

KatyTheCleaningLady · 03/07/2013 09:12

When I'm not working, I tend to wear mini dresses/tunics with tights and a cardigan over. I never button them up, either, so I have a couple of charity shop finds that are a tad too small but you can't tell.

Love cardigans here -these have to be classic waist length style but in strong colours (I'm a winter). TK MAxx sometimes have some lovely ones. I agree and I used to get some from Boden but their quality have declined and these get bobbly.

I have a gorgeous emerald one from Sainsbugs last year and I still have a smart black one from F & F that I've had for 10 years Grin

MadAboutHotChoc · 03/07/2013 09:45

I think with cardigans, these don't suit everyone - some are better off wearing light jackets.

daimbardiva · 03/07/2013 09:48

I am a cardigan lover too - I have multiple H&M ones in dfifferent colours, a couple of longline M&S ones, a cable knit red one, but my favourite is a skull fair-isle pattern one from Ness. I agree that you can't have too many. I'm almost always cold so always need one on top of dresses/tops. Hadn't thought of TK maxx though...must have a look
