Can't afford a new handbag. Will have to use a different shade of Ocado carrier bag to match the season (from grocery delivery when I was feeling rich - deluded soul that I was).

I wish I were like that all year round.
My mum is always telling me to ditch the black / brown / grey clothes / bags / accessories I seem to have accumulated.

Bozza · 04/06/2006 22:41

Right well I have an all-year-round work bag. Currently a black leather bowling bag (we are business casual) which works really well because I can sit a bowl of pasta salad in the bottom if I want to. Grin Blush

I sometimes use this on other days because it is roomy if I need lots of things (I haven't done changing bags since DD was 1). But I am moving on to more summery bags atm in general. I have dug out my denim bag with the red flower and red handels for instance. And today sneaked off from potty training (while DD was napping I must explain) to the garden centre and took a little cream crocheted bag.

rofl at this thread.
Love the idea of summer bags.
Actually my winter bag is a sort of pale purplish colour (DH bought it)but maybe I could go all bright and brash with the MN orange one too?
Cheap enough after all.
ALso could be a MN symbol - like a spy password....

I saw a lovely yellow leather one in Zara at Easter - but didn't want to spend so much as I don't really do yellow normally and wasn't sure I'd use it much.... then saw a yellow canvas one in Primark (much cheaper obviously) so got that instead - it's a bit big but good for days out as you can bung loads in.

Most of my "summer" bags seem to be big actually, handy when toting around loads of nappies but must look out for a smaller one

LadyCodofCOdford · 05/06/2006 17:05

ok finbar has just been around
she says the summer handbag phenomenon was inknonw to her

MadameClarydeClary · 05/06/2006 17:07

well I went into town and also spotted lots of people with summer bags.
Did not buy one as unable to locate River Island (it has moved, odd thing for an island to do)
However did buy sunglasses! in TopShop what's more (no hooter sounded when I went in there, amazingly).
Come on, more summer bag views please.

Daisymae · 05/06/2006 17:27

Summer handbags are a must!! Especially if you get to escape on YOUR OWN and can go sit and read in trendy coffee shop/wine bar/veggie herbal tea joint, which ever is your fave!!

Though maybe you have to suit your bag to the venue. in my case, orange Ollie&Nic for first two/Hemp backpack style for latter!!

What about bags for the beach? Do you get a new one every year? Or carry a rucksack? I got a lovely pink flowery one from George last year which I then found in sale in remote village shop in Greece, AND it broke after two days! Any ideas??
