Lipstick or lipbalm?

Hi
I'm after a natural coloured lipstick for everyday wear at work. I like natural looking make up but do need a bit of help to look less tired & washed out.
I have bought many lip products and never find the perfect one. My lips feel quite dry so would like creamy or moisturising but without the shimmery look.
I recently bought a revlon lip butter but it's too shimmery.
Should I be looking at lip balms and do they come in different colours?

Any recs for a good natural lip colour would be appreciated.

I've got a chubby stick in Honey which is nice and natural for everyday.

The little pink and white tin of Vaseline is good for both moisture and a touch of colour

TallulahBetty · 01/07/2013 22:06

I second the pink vaseline. Have about 4 tins stashed in various places.

MagicBaguette · 01/07/2013 22:09

I love both pink Vaseline and chubby sticks!

Jemster · 01/07/2013 22:23

Thanks for the ideas. I have bought the vaseline before but I have problem hands and couldn't get the lid off easily!

Another fan of Clinique Chubby Sticks, also like Bobbi Brown creamy lip colour.

The Korres tinted lip balm is good if your lips are really dry. There are different colours and I think you can get them in Waitrose now.

EMUZ · 02/07/2013 00:50

Burst bees lip balms are nice, I use the tiger lily one. And 1/3 off in waitrose at the moment Wink

EMUZ · 02/07/2013 00:50

Burts obviously not burst Grin

Cheesymonster · 02/07/2013 08:59

Asda sell the pink Vaseline in stick form. The tins are a pain in the arse!

tharsheblows · 02/07/2013 09:02

I second the Burts Bees recommendation and oooh, glad to know they're on sale, thanks!

EMUZ · 02/07/2013 09:09

It's the whole burts bees range if I remember right. And I think Korres shower gels were buy one get one free Smile

minibmw2010 · 02/07/2013 18:39

Burts Bees to tinted lip balms are fab Smile

Jemster · 02/07/2013 19:07

Great thanks for info about burts bees offer at waitrose. Which colour shall I go for? I have olivey skin, brown hair with highlights and brown eyes so don't really suit cool pink colours. Are any of the burts bees tinted balms a nudey colour? I've had a look but it's hard to tell on the website.

The one I have is called Hibiscus and is a nude/brown/red colour. Hard to describe but it's v subtle.

Dilidali · 02/07/2013 19:36

Mercier lip stain

I also spent about an hour at the MAC counter and chose this
which is a colour I would never ever pick, but it does put a bit of colour in my face and is very subtle

Eliza22 · 02/07/2013 19:43

Bobbi Brown Sandwash Pink here. Makes me look "alive". I cannot really "do" Vaseline and balms as I have no natural lip pigment, at all.

Eliza22 · 02/07/2013 19:44

Always use my Carmex at night. Smile

EMUZ · 02/07/2013 20:53

I wear the tiger lily one and it looks coral ish on me but subtle

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/07/2013 20:56

Revlon lip butter here.
