Wimbledon final outfit help <emergency>

Been invited to Wimbledon final - a lifelong dream.

However I have nothing to wear. No joke. I am still too fat from having the DC to fit into my pre pregnancy clothes. So nothing smart in wardrobe to fit.

To make matters worse we are just back from holiday. I went diving and was stung very badly on lower legs by a jelly fish. I literally mean all over calves. Full of red welts in long tentacle like rows

So I won't be able to wear a dress.

I need a smart trouser and jacket type combo which isn't too corporate or mother-of-the-bride.

I am 5'10" and a size 14 pale and blonde. With welts on legs.....

I have shoes (lots) handbags (lots) in many shapes and colours. And I probably have tops which would go with a large variety of things (smart ones).

I could get away with cropped. Trouser as welts are higher up on calves and behind knees.

One further issue is my large saggy mum tum. I look pregnant in long dresses (skirts and empire lines)

I am a real catch!!

Please pretty please help me to look presentable (and not pregnant!).

Budget less than £500 pref much less!

Actually I look pregnant in most things. I am hoping to find something to wear which makes me look just fat.

High waisted isn't great because of the bulging tum is largest higher up (a bad case of separated stomach muscles as well).

How about a jumpsuit?

MrsLettuce · 01/07/2013 20:24

How about something along the lines of this, these and this?

MrsLettuce · 01/07/2013 20:25

Was looking for that tethers but couldn't find the damn thing, doesn't it come in navy too?

MrsNoodleHead · 01/07/2013 20:35

Blush pink jacket and trousers?

MrsNoodleHead · 01/07/2013 20:39

Another jumpsuit

towerofjelly · 01/07/2013 20:39

Is there a department store nearby that has a personal shopper?

tethersend · 01/07/2013 20:42

This would look great with a white jacket and wide brimmed hat. Although take it off when you sit down Wink

tethersend · 01/07/2013 20:43

Not sure, MrsL- and I now see its only available in a 6...

MrsLettuce · 01/07/2013 20:51

Ah, that explains why I couldn;t find it!

this?

LondonMother · 01/07/2013 20:52

I have nothing to add except that (a) I hope you have a great day and it doesn't rain, (b) you will be sitting down so the tum will not be attracting much attention and (c) all eyes will be on the tennis, not on your tum, anyway. Oh, and (d) I so, so want Andy Murray to win this year - give him a cheer from me if you do see him!

Actually, I do have one thing to say about clothing - is a jumpsuit a good idea in a place where you might have to queue for a long time for a public loo?

MrsFlorrick · 01/07/2013 21:19

Tethers. Can't do jumpsuit due to pregnant looking fat tum. I tried one on recently and it accentuated the pregnant look a lot sadly.

Mrs L. I like that Hobbs combo. Bit scared of white these days (two under 4 will do that for you).

Noodle head. Ooohh. I love that! I will see if I can get into their marylebone store to try it on.

Hurray! Also liked this Goat jacket thought the trews aren't quite right.

MrsFlorrick · 01/07/2013 21:56

Mrs noodlehead. I love that jacket but not sure on trews as you say. May be a little see thru. Not ideal at my age or Wimbledon.

God I'm so jealous! Have a fabulous time and cheer Andy Murray on to victory.

What about a maxi dress?

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 01/07/2013 23:02

Maybe controversial but I don't think it's important to be too smart. Especially if it's hot. I've been quite a free times and to be honest comfort is important as much as anything (going tomorrow).

MrsFlorrick · 02/07/2013 00:57

Trixy. Thanks. I am v v v v excited.

Maxi dress is a no no. My shape after having the dc means it makes me look very pregnant. And I am so utterly sick of being asked when I am due or on a bad day I get: "not long to go now". Ugh. Sad

Problem is that my waist is somewhere between a 16 and a size 18 but the rest of me is a 12 so I compromise with a size 14 which is tight on the waist but not too loose everywhere else. Nightmare.

Happy. I agree with comfort. I think an informal suit is a good idea as its comfy but not stiff and corporate and hides a multitude of sins.

Yep informal suit great plan.

Today I am wearing skinnies and jacket and uniqlo thermal vest. But then it might rain and this visit not a corporate one.
