Stretching patent leather heals using ice method?

My brand new LK Bennet platfrom nude shoes are too tight across the toe line but any bigger the shoe fell off. As I'm a fashion desperado, I had to have them, but must stretch them. Has anyone tried the bag of water/ turn to ice stretch method? Am reticent to my new treasures in the freezer!

I've never tried this, but my son has watched this video about 1000 times:

stretching your shoes with ice

I bought a show stretcher on Amazon the other day which works better than anything else I have tried so far. Only a fiver as well - bargain!

Hmm, patent leather doesn't like extremes of temperature at all - I'd be loath to risk it unless I was prepared to need to bin the shoes if it went wrong. Valium's thing sounds like a safer bet.

Shoe stretcher obviously !

I've done it successfully with leather, but not sure about patent, I think it might damage it

The old fashioned way to stretch the toe area was to wrap a potato in newspaper and push it into the toe of the shoe. Leave for a few days in a warm place. The newspaper causes the potato to warm up and expand slightly. My Gran told me this is what they did to stretch shoes when she was a lady's maid in Belgravia.

I've used damp scrunched up news paper which works well.

clarks do a stretch spray, you spray it in the shoe, then wear it and it stretches to the size of your foot.
not as "out there" as the other methods!!!

Well the ice worked a little but I needed more air in the bag I think as it hadn't gone deep enough into the toe. Patent looked absolutely fine. I will repeat again today after sitting here with them on while wearing tights!

Success. Thick socks with tights over them. Almost comfy now!
