I'm sure these subjects have been done to death but I'm always interested in other people's recommendations. I have birthday money and need the following;

BB cream or tinted moisturiser
An 'everyday' eye shadow
Mascara

I am quite pale with blue eyes.

Just finished the Garnier BB cream, it was ok. Is Laura Mercia worth the money?
Was thinking light brown eye shadow? Maybe Mac?
Mascara, feel like I've tried them all! So far a bit meh about Benefit, Clinique, Chanel, and Max Factor.

Cheers!

Mac PaintPots are very good for everyday. I have use Bare Study or Groundwork both are lovely, long lasting and a dream to apply and blend.
Mascara wise, I find myself coming back to the waterptoof Loreal Telescopic one.

For an everyday eyeshadow, I can't recommend Urban Decay's Naked palette highly enough. If you want just one colour, I'd probably go for Mac Shale.

Mascara - L'Ancome Definicils is the best I've tried but Mx Factor ones are decent and much cheaper.

BB - have only tried the Garnier one but it is v orange.

I love Maybelline BB cream. Lightweight but good coverage. Really nice shades (I use light usually and medium in the summer if needed).

For eyeshadows I would recommend MUA (at Superdrug) - their Heaven & Earth palette is just £4 but has 12 lovely browns/neutrals. Or their Undressed palette which is a dupe of the Urban Decay Naked palette mentioned above.

I use MAC Grain as an everyday eyeshadow. It's the same colour as my skin (maybe a bit darker during winter) with shimmer.
MAC Omega is also quite nice - a matte taupe. And MAC Charcoal brown, which is a matte medium-brown.
I have Shale, and it comes up purple on me. On me, it looks more purple and grey than brown.

I have the BB cream from Estee Lauder, which is nice, but I need a bit of a tan for it to not be too dark on me. And it's the lightest colour.

I recommend getting a sample of the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser before buying.

I love Guerlains Le 2 mascara volume. It has a normal mascara brush and a doe foot type applicator.

Lancome Hydra-Zen BB Cream is excellent. I am quite pale too and use shade no2 "Sable".

Mac's Shroom is a good base colour to which you can add more colourful liners if you want to make more impact. My favourite for the summer is Deep Truth - a beautiful bright but deep navy which really enhances my blue eyes. Otherwise I use taupe-ish shades from a Mac smokey eye palette I have had for a while.

Mascara - I wear Max Factor Masterpiece. I have tried other more expensive brands but not really noticed a great difference.

I have just begun using Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid liner and it is fabulous. Doesn't budge or smudge and looks fresh all day.

Lip colour: Chanel's Rouge Orage or a warm pale pink gloss (can't remember the brand).
