Need advice - Eyelash extensions!!!

Hi ladies!
Have decided to bite the bullet and get some eyelash extensions done. Really like how natural yet beautiful they look, and I can never get a great look with mascara.
However all the research is driving me nuts! I've no idea what type are best, how long they should be lasting, what's a reasonable price, where I should go?
Do any of you ladies have a recommendation in London? Prepared to spend a bit if I need to but within reason - not exactly rolling in eyelash-extension money

My best advice is don't do it. Yes, they look amazing but ultimately, they ruin your own lashes and you'll end up with none.

They ruined mine too, took me ages to get them back to normal.

Don't do it. The barely last 2 wks and are super expensive to maintain. They also ruin your natural lashes.

I love eyelash extensions! They definitely save on make-up & time, I get them done for holidays & special occasions and with them and a bit of fake tan I don't need to bother with make-up most of the time. Yes, your own lashes will look very stumpy in comparison by the time they come off but to say they will ruin your natural lashes is a bit of an exaggeration. If you wear them permanently they will damage your own lashes but every so often is fine. If in doubt, get them removed by the person who put them on, as they can take the last stragglers out without pulling off your natural lashes at the same time.

Good lashes should last 3-4 weeks - the finer and more 'natural' the lash, the longer they will stay on. If you get massive ones they'll fall out more quickly. I live in London and find that most places here are really expensive so I travel out to Leyton to get mine done by someone there - I found her on Gumtree and she charges £25 for a set. Mine have trashed my natural lashes..just one set, just three weeks- they are very bald and stumpy. Have now bought Rapidlash serum to see if that encourages them to grow...watch this space.

No, I wouldn't do it either now. Too many stories of own lashes ruined afterwards.
I've just bought something called Love Alpha, which applies natural fibres to the lashes. I haven't yet tried it properly, so can't recommend, but something like that might be a good alternative to extensions or false eyelashes.

Another saying dont do it. Mine took years to recover. I wear false lashes every day, just glue on ones. You get the knack when you do it a lot. Obviously I don't wear huge feathery ones every day, just every day type ones. So much quicker and better looking than mascara.

Done well, they can look amazing. Been having them for about 2 years by this woman in London. They knackered my lashes after about 18 months of continuous infill but they grew back fine after a three month break. Got them again now. I just ask for a natural length / thickness and Sophie is great at them.

I've been having mine done for about 9 months now (infills every 2-3 weeks) and they look fantastic.. No damage to my own lashes.. I think they only damage your own lashes if you're harsh with them or start trying to remove them yourself etc..

I'm a beauty therapist & recently had them done by a girl that did a good job. I loved them but as each lash fell out it took my own lash with it. I did all tve correct after care. The glue gave me a really bad headache a few hours after being done & the next day. I removed the few that was left with remover & hardly have any lashes left or just stumps. I was warned not to get them done but I'm glad I tried them. I have put individual cluster lashes on my self & they actually look better than the extensions I had done. They last about a week & just come off easily when removing my makeup & don't pull out my own lashes. I think I will just stick with these until my own lashes grow back longer.

I love them.

I get them I filled every 2 1/2 weeks, every now and then they take the whole lot off and start again. I've not lost any of my own lashes, other than the usual amount that you'd lose, eyelash extensions or not.

The only downside to them is wearing sunglasses. I've had quite bad hay fever this year and have been wearing sunglasses every time I go out and they've trashed the extensions a bit

Just be careful where you get them done. It's not cheap either

Nobody is disputing they look great, well they can if they're well and subtly done that is. It's just the damage they do to existing lashes.

A fried of mine has been sucked into having them done all the time now, alternative is to have them all removed and brazen out her own natural remaining stumpy lashes for a few months.

They will ruin your own eyelashes and make you prone to infections as they attract dirt and dust as they are not coated with natural oils like our own lashes are.

I've been having them for 2 years. I still have my natural eyelashes and I have not had any eye infections. It is important to clean them properly, to not pull them out and to ensure your technician uses a good glue. If it givens you a headache or makes you feel 'bunged up' during application, get them to stop and change the glue.
