Not Your Daughter's Jeans

Wow, I just tried on my first pair and think I might actually be returning to the land of jeans after a tough year that resulted in gaining weight and not being able to fit into anything from the high street shops. I'm not toned, I'm a pillowy size 14. Anyone have any luck with any cheaper jeans???

trouble is, they go a bit 'saggy' after a couple of months, due to the elastane in them - my Mum had a pair and they were fab, but now are not so good. Some of the stretchier jeans in primark and levis I found to be similar in terms of good 'lift' and a lot cheaper!

Next are doing a "flattering/shaping" range, I really like mine. They're a little bit higher on the hip so don't feel as though they are sliding all the time. I'm a un-toned 12. They were £40.

Only had them two months though so can't vouch for their longevity!

they might not be your daughters, but IMO they look like your mums

I don't think people who condemn NYDJ as frumpy have looked at the whole range - which isn't available all that easily I admit. John Lewis for example seem only to choose the most boring ones.

I wear their dark denim or black skinnies and they are great - wouldn't buy anything else. I have quite a few pairs which I rotate so don't find they go saggy for a long time.

I don't wear jeans all together. Have not worn them since I was a teen and usually preferred skirts anyway to trousers as a whole. I am very apple shaped and cannot fit into any jeans, I also happen to think that they are not the best choice for women who are short as well (I am 5'3) and I find denim uncomfortable.
