A well fitting, smart/sexy and preferably push-up bra size 38A... impossible???

I am sooo fed up with trying to find a well fitting bra, preferably nice looking and adding a bit of "volume" in my size...
I'm starting to feel like a freak!
Am i really the only person in the world with really small breasts and a slightly larger ribcage?
Every bra I find is either too tight around my chest or has gaping cups. I need a wired one as any others leave me looking completely flat-chested.
Any suggestions of shops or online retailers would be greatly appreciated!

Gemsey14 Start with a 38E
hobbjobb start with a 42hh and work from there - what are you both wearing just now

SuperWifeANDMum · 04/08/2014 19:35

Hello

Could you let me know if my mum is wearing the correct bra size?

She measures 38.5 inches under bust and 49 inches over.

She is currently wearing a 38G which Rigby And Peller fitted her into.

Thank you.

ilovepowerhoop · 04/08/2014 19:39

sounds about right for those measurements

Gemsey14 · 04/08/2014 19:59

36A but it is really tight round my back, but I struggle to get a 38A.

ilovepowerhoop · 04/08/2014 20:05

no wonder a 36A is tight as the back size is a little too small and the cup size is phenomenally too small - you must have massive massive overspill in that size! A 38A is also far far too small in the cup.

Gemsey14 · 04/08/2014 20:12

I really can't see how I'm going to fit into a 38E, my boobs are nearly non existent. Will have to go and try one on when next shopping.

Gemsey14 · 04/08/2014 20:14

Yes, I do have a lot of overspill and I really hate it. ??

ilovepowerhoop · 04/08/2014 20:16

your overspill is what is going to fit in the cups!

mrstiggy · 04/08/2014 20:16

Hi ladies, I'm wondering if you could help me too?
Years of badly fitting bras and three children have ruined my boobs. Sad They are not all that small but it's all underneath (and under my sodding arms) and very little at the top. Basically my boobs start at my nipple. Grin Can anyone tell me what type of bras would fit a droopy boobed woman?
Currently in a 34E tho may need a little smaller as was still bf when I bought those and was a little fuller. Currently 34 inch under bust and 43 inch over.
Thanks in advance for any help.

ilovepowerhoop · 04/08/2014 20:20

I get you as a 34G. I cant help with styles, you need Sorrel or Statistically for that

OrangeSunset · 04/08/2014 21:02

Ok so I posted for help finding bras for 36A, and read with interest that I may not be that size at all.

Tape measure at the ready, and have measured as described above (i.e. bending over and boobs hanging down. Seems odd?!) I really am very flat chested, but what should I be wearing...?

Under boob - 32 inches
Over boob - 35 inches

Is that all the measurements I should do?

ilovepowerhoop · 04/08/2014 21:09

32C by my calculations

SorrelForbes · 04/08/2014 21:13

Gemsey14 You need to so some scooping:

Lean forward, drop your breasts in to the cups and do the bra up at the back. Now, take your right hand, put it round inside the left cup, all the way round under your armpit, and scoop all the soft tissue and flesh in to the cup. You might not know it, but all that soft tissue under your armpit is breast, and it needs to be in the cup. Now, repeat on the other side. The wire should totally encase your soft breast tissue, and you should have no overspill or wrinkling in the cups. The central gore should sit flat in between your boobs.

SorrelForbes · 04/08/2014 21:14

mrstiggy Balconettes and half cups tend to be good for those who have breasts that are fuller on the bottom.

Have you scooped whilst wearing your 34E? Any overspill/quad boob?

OrangeSunset · 04/08/2014 21:16

Ilovepowerhoop is the 32C for me?! That might explain things. I'll do some eager shopping!

SorrelForbes · 04/08/2014 21:19

OrangeSunset How do your current 36As fit? if you scoop do you get overspill, back fat, quadboob etc? If so then you'll need to try 32D and upwards too as a 32C has the same cup volume as a 36A.

ilovepowerhoop · 04/08/2014 21:19

yes OrangeSunset, 32C for you

mrstiggy · 04/08/2014 21:23

sorrel if I scoop in this bra (it's a low cup one) my nipples fall out Smile but if I don't, or if I wear a full cupped one the top looks all baggy or I have extra boobs under my arms. I think I just have odd shaped boobs.

Gemsey14 · 04/08/2014 22:09

Ok, will try 'scooping' when I try one on and see how it goes.??

SorrelForbes · 04/08/2014 22:39

mrstiggy it definitely sounds like your current cup is too small. A full cup probably won't work as it'll be too tall for you, hence the gaping at the top of the cup. Try a bigger cup in a half cup or balconette.

InkleWinkle · 05/08/2014 08:06

Marking my place (sorry) til I find a tape measure.

InkleWinkle · 05/08/2014 09:00

OK so....35 underneath and (I think) 40.5 /41 round "the widest part"

When some one's got a mo....

ilovepowerhoop · 05/08/2014 09:15

I think you should try 34 DD/E/F cups and 36 D/DD/E cups.

InkleWinkle · 05/08/2014 09:43

Wow that's quite a big range!

ilovepowerhoop · 05/08/2014 09:48

its not really as 34DD has the same cup volume as 36D as does 34E and 36DD

I would work out which underband size is more comfy and then see which cup size fits best.
