dress for DBs wedding

i need your help! whilst looking for something else i came accross this dress from phase eight minueta dress . but do you think this dress a bit OTT for a wedding?

it looks just the kind of thing that i would pick off a rail to try on - it looks (on the web) the right colour for me, looks as though it would cover wobbly tummy bits, unsightly legs and suitable for feeding in (wrap style).

of course its not needed until next year (typical) but i am starting to look around already for ideas. due to give birth any day and hoping to get back to my pre preg state by next summer so would be far too risky to order it now i think.

and if it is too OTT has anyone seen anything suitable (that hides tummy, legs) that would be smart enough?

TIA

Lovely dress. But you may find your style changes after giving birth, and they may have something even lovelier next year.

It will go.on sale between now and when you need it so I would advise waiting for it to go.on sale.

Lovely dress, but you should definitely definitely wait until nearer the time to buy a dress. You have no idea what dress size you'll be, for one thing!

Thank you for the replies and glad that the dress isn't too hideous! It's a shame that the timings not better as you're right I have no idea what size I will be next year. But how might my style change post baby (apart from carrying a muslin everywhere)? What have I missed?!

This dress has now come up in the sale for £50!!! I know that I am postnatal and ridiculously hormonal but I am thinking that it would be silly not to buy at least to look at it in real life. Not sure I could bring myself to try it on yet (still big and puffy). How would you accessorize though? Would I need a hat / hair thing? Heels and bag? And in which colour?

I am rubbish at this sort of thing so thanks for any help Smile

You're postnatal and still love it - get it! Smile

I think most colours would work as an accent colour with the dress - pick a colour that really brightens you up, for me it would be a warm pink or coral.

Congrats btw Thanks

Congratulations OP!

One thing to think about if buying this far ahead, which is nothing to do with being postnatal, is whether your DB's plans for the wedding might change between now and then. I took advantage of the sales to buy a dress very early for a family wedding; the dress code changed about three times after that so I ended up having to buy something else as my original dress was much too formal. But I do still love it and I found another occasion to wear it, so if it's love and a great bargain, I'd probably go for it anyway.

Thank you, I hadn't considered that they may change their minds re the dress code - bride and mum have everything so well organised, I'm not sure if any change of plan will be allowed Grin.

Still not sure whether to go for an accent colour as you suggest (probably turquoise or something bright for me) or whether to play it safe with black (not very summery) or silver grey.

Will wait to see in real life first I think. It may not be 'me' at all.
