How do I sort out my cuticles?

I love painting my nails but the cuticles on my finger and toe nails are thick and unsightly. What's the best way to get rid of them? I bought cuticle scissors and they were crap. Is there another option? They really look ugly and spoil the finish of my nails.

I used to have this problem too and a couple of months ago I decided to try to sort them out. I had used cuticle remover before but had never really got it to work properly till I got this. It is amazing! You only need a tiny bit and it completely removes all old cuticles. I think it's better to use something like this than to cut them.

I then use two products that I absolutely love to moisturise this and this. I use the cream during the day and the oil at night.
After a week my cuticles and nails were so much better, I can't believe how easy it was to take care of them after ignoring how awful they were for so long.

i massage in almond oil.
and use cuticle clippers, not scissors.
am tempted by the opi exfoliator too though!

The opi exfoliator is the greatest thing ever - I am boringly evangelical about it!

I went for a manicure and got them to sort them out so that I had a good base to start from, and asked advice. The girl who did them said that the best bet was to become obsessed, and have a small moisturiser or cuticle oil everywhere you spend time.

The one I've found best - don't know if its actually best for getting rid of cuticles but its definitely easiest - is OPI Avoplex cuticle oil to go. Easy to apply as its a squeezy tube rather than a nail polish type bottle, which means I can do it at my desk if I remember much easier.

I have one in my bag, one in my pen-pot and one next to my bed. Also a good hand cream daily too.

Its now been 3 weeks of obsessing trying and my nails actually look nice! I've even got some growth on the nails and they look almost feminine!
