Confusion ... Bourgeois Healthy Mix

Eliza22 · 19/06/2013 10:42

Went to try this and am confused. Boots had something called "Healthy Mis Serum" a gel based foundation and my local chemist had "Healthy Mix Foundation. Which is the one that gets the rave reviews?

Came home empty handed and await wise MN ladies' advice.

TIA.

Boots "Healthy Mix Serum Foundation"

Chemist "Healthy Mix Foundation"

Sorry, confusing everyone else now!

The serum one I think.

Healthy Mix Serum is better for dry skin, where as Healthy Mix Foundation is better for normal/combination skin.

As far as I'm aware, both are very good. The serum is supposed to be a bit harder to work with, but I haven't tried it, so I can't say if that's true.

The healthy mix foundation is however very good IMO, and is comparable to some of the more expensive ones I've got.

I have the serum and love it. It feels light and moisturising but dries quite matte and has reasonable coverage. Also randomly smells lovely! It would be my HG foundation if it had spf. Am off to buy Benefit Oxygen Wow foundation later which is a similar formulation (slapped it on from sample bottle yesterday) but with spf25. Both Benefit and Bourjois are good for yellow tones, pink makes me look ill.

The serum is the one that gets rave reviews on youtube and blogs.

I had the same confusion as you and boughtthe foundation by mistake and I do really like it.

To confuse you further the HMS is being discontinued and replaced by Radiance Reveal something or other. There was a thread yesterday about it.

I didn't actually like the HMS much. A very peculiar consistency I thought. Gloopy gel doesn't didn't feel right to me. (I am going to try the new RR though maybe in a lighter shade as I think it was one shade too dark for me as well)

Maybelline Eraser is the bollocks IMO for the same sort of price. Fab-u-lous. Though not made by Chanel of course, unlike Bourjois Wink

I thought it was the other one that was being replaced, the foundation? And the serum is being continued.

Amazinggg · 19/06/2013 15:13

Am guessing that it is the foundation that is being replaced and not the serum - confusingly on their website it has all 3, but the new one is also called Healthy Mix Foundation.

It is really weird that they'd mess with an award winning formula.

Yesterday's thread, which leaves me no wiser tbh. Grin

I have dry skin but I prefer the original. The serum seems to go cakey on me, which is odd because I haven't heard of it happening to anyone else. But the original applies beautifully.

Thanks for the replies. Gave up in the end and bought my trusty Clinique Superbalanced. I just couldn't be bothered with the faff of trying new/different makes and formulations to buy cheaper and end up binning it, half way through.

Am an habitual creature of habit. Smile
