Alien vs. Predator (ok, Levi Curve vs. Primark skinnies)

lastmalteserinthepacket · 18/06/2013 12:13

I have been burnt too often by skinnies that look amazing in the shop but go baggy within an hour's wear

I was almost seduced by Levi's Curve ID, after trying some on, but don't want to make the same mistake - and have read great reviews of Primark skinnies here...

Any reviews/thoughts/comparisons?

levis curve id all the way

Primark skinnies have their place (I have several) but the material and cut of the levis are far better.

Thanks Chablis!

Presumably you're buying Curve because you have what we like to call in the business - an "arse". Ergo, skinnies will make you look like a chicken drumstick try-hard.

You know it makes sense.

MrsMangoBiscuit · 18/06/2013 13:10

I just have to clarify, Levis = Predator, yes?

dexter73 · 18/06/2013 13:38

Levis curve are my favourite jeans. I usually get them in the sale half price. I have an arse but don't look like a chicken drumstick try-hard, whatever that may be.

I was fitted for Levi's Curve ID a couple of months ago. The woman was so helpful. Phenomenal jeans. SO SO SO happy For the first time in YEARS I feel good in something other than Bootcuts (although I did also buy some slimbootcuts).

lastmalteserinthepacket · 18/06/2013 18:04

Levis= definitely Predator

Alas, little arse. Am apparently a slight curve or whatever. Would much rather have arse (and bosoms and long flowing hair and white teeth)

However this raises another dilemma:

Do they go baggy and...
Do I go for the bootcut or skinnies?

I know you can't help me with the second one but can you Curve owners confirm the first one, i.e. they don't bag out?

I have three pairs of Primark skinnies, in grey denim, black denim and olive sort of fabric twill stuff. They all feel and wear differently tbh but I utterly love them. I'd not get them in a blue denim where I think quality pays off, but none of mine bag. Sizing really varies too so try them on, in all the different colours if necessary. Disclaimer - I haven't tried Levi's Curve. Seems a random comparison?!

cardamomginger · 18/06/2013 21:12

Definitely don't bag.

Get yourself measured by an assistant and try them all on!

dexter73 · 18/06/2013 22:32

I have slim leg and skinny. They don't bag. Levis stores are great and they will bring you all sorts of pairs and tell you which ones fit you the best.

lastmalteserinthepacket · 18/06/2013 22:33

I know, but believe me, if you research it (as much as I have been doing, ahem), primark and Levis come up loads

Thanks for all views. Will go try.

(Jean shopping has to come up there with moving house for stress)

I have Levi's curve in both straight and skinny. The straight fit beautifully, don't bag, but are a mite frumpy.

The skinnies hav a high polyester content and bag something terrible. They're line old-style jodhpurs by the end of day 1.

But only £25 in T K Maxx. So, swings and roundabouts.
