Am I too old for wedge trainers?

Just that really, have seen a pair, neutrals, very inoffensive, and I plan to wear them with wine/burgundy slim leg canvas trousers.

I'm 37....

Thanks :)

only if you consider yourself to be too old for "shoes" (Ash Bowies, tan and orange. AND PROUD)

Foosyerdoos · 17/06/2013 18:25

I am 43 and love my wedge trainers, some are a bit ott but I find them so comfy and give me some much needed height.

Decanter · 17/06/2013 18:30

Hi thanks for the replies. Sounds like a resounding no then! Can't find the exact ones online but they are practically identical in style to these, but a little darker/beiger...

Thanks again!

They are nice Decanter, I have a pair similar but in a darker beige colour.

EasterHoliday · 17/06/2013 18:32

if they're Ash, buy half a size down, they come up very large (but are super comfortable)

Decanter · 17/06/2013 18:33

Oh and I meant to say, the Ash Bowie Prune ones are to die for...

Thanks Foosyerdoos :)

Thanks Decanter - they were a bargain sale purchase. Always worth checking with Ash Bowies and Beas as they are often reduced....

Decanter · 17/06/2013 18:37

Oh and also meant to say, I did in fact buy them today but didn't want to admit it in case you all said I was mad! They are just a cheapy pair from Office but now that my eyes have been opened to the Ash Bowies .....! Thanks for the sizing advice EasterHoliday.

Oh they're gorgeous shopafrolic, but I'd actually love them in grey or any shade of plum/purple (prune!?) :D

I have some Ash Bea wedge trainers, they are orange suede and tan leather and look really nice. I am nearly 57 and don't give a stuff.

Decanter · 17/06/2013 18:43

I'm drooling here! Thanks for the links! What else do you all wear with them?

Skinnies jeans, tee or sweatshirt and biker jacket for running around in. I know others on here who can carry them off with a tube skirt / mini but I'm not brave enough!

MoodyDidIt · 17/06/2013 19:15

shall i tell you what i wore mine with yesterday?

cut off frayed denim hotpants, with a Guns n Roses vest

i probably looked mutton but i dont give a shit :o

shopafrolic · 17/06/2013 19:20

Nice one MoodyDidIt

Chocamochalatte · 17/06/2013 19:38

Absolutely not too old!

These are mine: www.dune.co.uk/leven-d-mix-material-wedge-trainer-0106505410001033/ in the tan..

herecomesthsun · 17/06/2013 20:12

Well, I'm 49 and I have wedge lace ups but not trainers. It is not so much my age but living in the countryside that is the thing holding me back from buying Ash wedge trainers. Most of them are suede or light coloured or both. I have to park my car next to a muddy ditch by our front gate, so that wouldn't work for me! I might get some if I can find a black pair (ideally in a sale, as I enjoy finding bargains.)

Decanter · 17/06/2013 22:05

Thanks everyone. Think I'm going to have to invest in some more skinnies. Trouble is I'm not... My straight/slim leg trousers/jeans didn't look great but I do have one pair of skinnies and they looked good. Not sure my husband loves them. When I was trying them on and rabbitting on about tucking them in, he muttered something about that being a good idea so that I would get them caught in the chain of my bmx.

Bandit.
