Sunscreen allergy

I am allergic to most sunscreens. Specifically chemical sunscreens. In reality this means that the majority of them bring me out in a horrid, itchy red rash.
I can use sunscreen that uses a physical block (titanium dioxide?). I have found one by Liz Earle, but it is thick, white, greasy and expensive. Does anyone know of any others? Particularly ones that I can use on a daily basis under make up?

I use Ultrasun, quite a lot of mainstream ones irritate my skin. Ultrasun is meant for sensitive skins and does contain titanium dioxide, there are all sorts of other things in there but it is unperfumed etc. You can get it in Waitrose, also saw it today in a large branch of M&S, Ocado do it and QVC online. It is expensive though. They have a face formulation which I use and it gives me no problems, even on eyelids (mine get irritated by many cleansers to give you an idea). It gives a nice matt finish on the face.

I've seen Ultrasun on QVC and have often wondered if it would be good for me. The trouble is, I don't know if its going to irritate until I'm actually out in the sun with it on. It's a real pain.
I will get some from QVC as they have a 30 day money back guarantee.
Thanks

You could try emailing the company and see if they'll send you a sample to try. Although I think boots might have small travel size ottles of ultra sun

Have you tried the green people range? My ds has very sensitive skin and comes out in rashes with regular creams but has been using the green people sun cream for adults especially for skin prone to heat rash.it rubs in really well, smells ok and can even be picked up at waitrose.they do sample sizes as well so may be worth a look Smile

I use Jason SPF 20 it's reasonable and does the job well.

Ambre Solaire Sensitive is fantastic. We are all very delicate in this house and use it.

Thank you all for your replies. I will try them all.
