Could someone help with a quick bra sizing please?

I currently wear a 32G, but I've lost weight and the cups are now too big (they gape at the top).

I've just remeasured and I'm now 31" under the bust and 41" around (leaning forwards). Last time I was 34" and 43". My 32s don't feel particularly loose in the back.

I want to get some new bras (namely a Bravissimo Satine and a Freya Deco strapless). Would love some advice please.

Thanks :)

I think based on those measurements you'd be best trying a 30H? (I'm no expert though) The tighter band may take up some of the slack in the cups, although I don't think your boobs themselves have really shrunk as your 'difference' has actually increased by 1" so you might need a 30HH (if they do one) or a 30J?

Satine comes up small in the cup so you may find your "too big" cup size is right for that bra

based on the measurements you are in one of your potential sizes - a 30GG/H or 32GG/g however you may be somebody who has a cup size slightly lower than they measure.

Try looking at the blog fitting section - there are a list of things to look for in a bra. If we can identify slightly better what is wrong we may be able to help. My suspicion is that if you were 34 when you got the 32s then you probably need to go down to a 30 back. The Satine, as mentioned, runs small.

Which bra(s) is it you have just now (might help too!)

Well, that'll teach me to be impatient - I figured if I was keeping the same back size but had lost 2 inches I'd need a 32F. Thank goodness for free returns!

I have Freya bras at the moment (balcony style) and they're definitely both too big in the cups, by quite a bit (I can easily fit my hand in the top).

Right, I'll try them when they arrive, but may send them back to try a 30 as well.

Thanks very much everyone! :)

Gah, I'm a muppet, I can get my hand up the band and pull it quite a long way from me (it's on the middle hooks). Right, 30GG you say?

Definitely go down to the 30 in that case. The Satine does run a bit small (very nice though)

If you are after strapless you might want to consider the Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless - runs small in the back and kinda big in the cup so try the 30G and the 32G (stops at G but I just about make the 32G work and I'm a 30HH/J)

ImpYCelyn · 11/06/2013 08:04

OK, some bras arrived this morning.

The 32 back on the Satine is too big. The F cup fit one boob, but was too small for the other, the 32FF cups fit both. So what should I get in a 30, a G?

The 32 back on the Deco strapless feels tight enough, the F cup seems to fit ok, but the bit in the middle doesn't lie flat. It's against me at the bottom, but about 1cm away from me at the top. It's the same in the FF. So I think it looks weird (like I have sideway spill as there's nothing securing them).

Thanks :)

Actually I can fit a hand under the band for the 32F Deco too, so that'll have to go back as well. Bugger, I really needed a new bra for tonight.

try the 30g and maybe even the gg in ygr satine-sometimes once the back is tighter there is more to scoop abd you suddenly find another cup size.

I haven't tried the deco strapless but it doesn't sound good-it might be sizing or it might just not work for you. if you have a debenhams nearby they sell it and the wonder bra I mentioned

ImpYCelyn · 11/06/2013 10:27

Thanks very much! I've arranged to try a 30G in the satine to start with. I also tried doing up the back really tight on the deco and that brought the gore in more, but then I had overspill, so I'm going to try a 30G in that as well, just to see if it's any better.

I need to see if there's a debenhams nearby - I got a gift voucher for my birthday :)

Thank you so much again!
