Hi all, long time lurker here and would love some quick advice on an outfit for tomorrow(!) night... I have tomorrow afternoon to go out and complete an outfit. Going to a restaurant and tribute act cabaret thingy. So far I have very black straight leg canvas type trousers (look more or less like skinny type jeans as I am size 18 and have large calves); and a pair of matt red leather peep toe high heels with wooden heels. They are quite retro, think "Sandy at the end of Grease" if that makes sense. But I have no clue of what style of top I should be looking for. Budget not really a prob as long as I stay within high street, which I will anyway because of my size. I was also thinking about wearing my hair in a large high bun??? Would really love any advice, thanks so much for reading x

Hi, I think a classy look top would go nice... Lace style blouse with a long set of pearls?

That could be great with the right blouse, but might be hard to find in an afternoon (for me anyway, I have trouble finding blouses I really like). Might be easier to go with a dark sleek shirt, black or dark gray, in a fabric with some sheen to it. Do you know what I mean? Something like this

Sorry for the American link but you get the idea? There are tons of shirts like this around.

Hello just wanted to say a belated thank you to you both for replying. I ended up with a combo of your suggestions, a jade green shirt, silky and sheeny, worn with pearls! Felt great so I think it looked great too :D Thanks again x

Oh, that sounds lovely -- love the green with the red shoes! Glad it worked out, so nice to go out feeling great.
