Cardis - fitted, plain colours; not cashmere

Can anyone recommend a fitted cardi? Not cashmere ( or indeed any wool) as am battling moths at the moment! Looking for red/coral, maybe bright green. Looked at M&S site, all looked very granny! Thanks.

I just picked up some in H&M and New Look - around £7-£10 each! I'm not usually a cheap shop buyer but guess these will last as long as more pricey ones. Great bright colours too, I got coral, cobalt blue and mint green.

Uniqlo had some good ones this morning.
I accidentally bought two. Smile

Sainsbury's in their Tu range? If they have a clothing section £10.

Gosh, what quick replies! Will check out all your suggestions - thanks.

TSSDNCOP · 06/06/2013 18:28

try again

Moominsarehippos · 06/06/2013 18:29

I have some nice Gap ones bought over the years. I second Uniqulo - I've browsed (not bought) but they seem to do simple designs in lots of colours.

Maybe buy white and dye it?

UtterflyButterfly · 06/06/2013 20:40

Have a look at the Woolovers website, they have loads in different styles and colours, and have them in a silk and cotton mix for summer. I'm waiting for delivery of one, so I can't comment on quality yet, but I've read plenty on here that rate them.

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 06/06/2013 22:06

Seen a few in Next.

I usually buy gap either merino or cotton but I don't know what they have in at the moment. IME H and M don't wash well.

JennySense · 06/06/2013 22:16

yy to woolovers - I've just had my first delivery and was very impressed.

50shadesofmeh · 06/06/2013 23:17

Uniqlo and I also love American apparels unisex oversized cardigan comes in loads of colours

evertonmint · 07/06/2013 16:22

I have a Woolovers cashmere-merino which I know you don't want but I have to say that it has become a staple very quickly and it machine washes fantastically. I went for the Classic Cropped and am thinking of trying the Cropped Crew in the silk-cotton as I think it is the same style. I have been really impressed. Great colour selection too.

fossil971 · 07/06/2013 19:17

I would try woolovers too, I have just ordered a cropped silk-cotton cardigan as I wanted a pale grey cardigan. I have a couple of theirs already and they are very good. Nice that they are wool/cashmere/cotton not the sodding viscose. They are better for bright colours than muted IMO, I do wish they would look at the lovely subtle colours in Brora sometimes!

NorkilyChallenged · 07/06/2013 21:02

woolovers. machine washable, lovely. I get the cropped, fitted styles. better than anything on high street and great price

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 07/06/2013 21:13

Woolovers are a good price and not bad quality, but they're not truly cropped, fitted cardis - they're a tad on the long side and the rib isn't deep enough.

My perfect cropped cardis are worn by Bernadette in [http://wornontv.net/the-big-bang-theory/bernadette/ Big Bang Theory]] Smile.

Pepperberry have a few atm (can't vouch for them though), and I like the LK Bennett ones although this year they look as if they might be a bit longer.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 07/06/2013 21:14

Oops forgot the double brackets Bernadette.

Bue · 07/06/2013 21:15

There are some lovely ones at Jigsaw at the moment!

AuntySib · 11/06/2013 20:32

Thanks everyone. No success yet - hit Brent X at the weekend, think short/cropped cardis are just not the thing this year. H & M had an OK one but not in my size, will try online. Everything else either long, pastel, or wool :(
