MrsCampbellBlack · 03/06/2013 19:46

Tried this on today and loved it. Just ordered the petite version.

Lovely jersey and as its slim fitting, tis flattering on those of us who aren't 5ft 10.

is this the one that has the split in it? Ordered this with high hopes (am 5 2") was gnashing my teeth with frustration at the split up to my knee...

Sh1ney · 03/06/2013 20:46

Hmmm. I like this.

I'm 5 ft 3 and a bit and size 8 ish - but how clingy is this skirt? My tummy has no business being in Lycra really. Size 10 petite is out of stock

dexter73 · 03/06/2013 20:49

It's lovely but I really don't need another maxi skirt do I? Maybe a quick trip to DPs while I am at the retail park tomorrow stocking up on BBQ gas from Homebase (the glamour Sad).

quality is shit

size down
google discount codes - i got $8 off

MrsCampbellBlack · 03/06/2013 20:56

I have tummy at the moment and with vest top ruched a bit - it was fine.

Shiney - the 8 would be fine, DP sizing is generous.

It does have split at the side but I liked that.

Nehru - love those sandals. But I will buy no more sandals as have about 12 pairs already. Skirt nice too but is it not terribly unforgiving?

There is also a Matalan there but I have never dared go in and I am not sure why. I am slightly nervous of it!

Lizzylou · 03/06/2013 21:04

Has anyone tried the Dp midi dresses?
I have a long sleeved one I love from a cheapy shop linked to on a few mn blogs.
Quite fancy a few short sleeved ones.

MrsCampbellBlack · 03/06/2013 21:06

Matalan smells funny. Or the only one I've ever been in did.

MrsCampbellBlack · 03/06/2013 21:07

I looked at them today Lizzy but I can't do midi so didn't try on. But the quality looked good for the price.

Remus Try one on, they are cut big so you have to go down a size and they don't cling at all.

Nehru, I know it was an event from DH, I stopped what I was doing and asked if he had banged his head at work today!

landofsoapandglory · 03/06/2013 21:20

Oh, Remus I meant to add I have 34D norks and am a size 10, but not a flat, flat stomach. The size 8 fits me and I don't look bad in it.

peggotty · 03/06/2013 21:31

I have just discovered the maxi skirt and I love. Have had several skirmishes with dresses and decided I don't suit them. Today I bought a black and white striped maxi skirt from tk and a fitted short sleeved tshirt - looks great. (I'm 5ft 7 and apple shaped - size 12 bottoms, 14ish top.) V flattering look imo.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/06/2013 21:41

Ooh I like the slaggy black skirt a lot. :)

Will try a striped dress - hate my norks though, so may or may not be okay. At least with a skirt, you can just shove a plain black or navy top on and keep them discrete!

MasterSplinter · 03/06/2013 21:51

If I get a normal sized one (am short as a short thing), will it puddle? Grin

Nehru · 03/06/2013 21:51

It's perfect. Son said "that's not for work , is it?!

Sh1ney · 03/06/2013 22:02

OK I ordered the petite one in an 8 - should be here in next few days. I don't usually do maxi in anything due to being short but I am going to trust your wisdom on this one.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/06/2013 22:08

Can just imagine a corridor full of Yr 11 boys, jostling each other to get the front seats in the History classroom when Nehru wears The Skirt to work. Grin

One of my Yr 11 boys told me I had good dress sense, the other day. Weirdo!

mewkins · 03/06/2013 22:12

Got an almost identical one from asos a few months ago. Very comfy but long and I am 5'7! Fine if rolled over though.

Nehru · 03/06/2013 22:22

Craig mckeever once told me I smelled nice.

GeorginaWorsley · 03/06/2013 22:37

Bought the petite jersey maxi dresses last year on your recommendation Mrs CB so tempted by this!

FaddyPeony · 03/06/2013 22:43

Mrs CB what size did you get please? I am 5'2, sometimes a 6 sometimes an 8.

LaundryLegoLunch · 05/06/2013 21:21

I bought the maxi skirt today and I love it! I'm 5'4" and have never found one that looks any good. Thank you MrsCB

(I also haven't set foot in DP for at least 20yrs and the staff were really lovely so I will be back)
