Am near an Aldi later this week & thought I would try some of the beauty buys recommended by Mnetters - is it the eye cream that is fab ?

TIA

The bb cream is excellent, as is the day and the night cream. They are also now doing their own version of tresemme shampoo and conditioner which I'm impressed with. I use their make up wipes too. Also recommend their sun cream.

happyreindeer · 03/06/2013 19:15

I think the eye cream is amazing and I am using the day cream and the mature night cream. Best beauty things I have ever bought.

Manuka honey for under £4 (would be more than 3x that in Sainsbury's) is good for washing your face or giving yourself a facial. It's anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and good for cleansing.

Mascara is ok - nothing special, but it didn't smudge or hurt my sensitive eyes.

Eyeshadow is great - made my eyes sore, but my mum loves it and it really suits her.

LifeofPo/Madlizzy - please may you let me know what the shade of the BB cream is like? I was tempted to try it today but assumed it would be too orangey/dark for my very fair, olive toned skin Sad. Also, is it fragranced?

I love the under-eye concealer, it's as good as Touche Eclat in my opinion and such a bargain. I found that the brush on my Touche Eclat started to stink after a while - if the same happens with my Aldi version I wouldn't feel bad about chucking it and getting a new one!

Cherrypie32 · 03/06/2013 20:46

I like the Lacura serum

ReapWhatYouSew · 03/06/2013 21:46

Hand cream is amazing - much better and infinitely cheaper than the Clarins one.

cornypedicure · 03/06/2013 23:01

yes my sister had the handcream - I was impressed

Nail polish is great. Limited shades but really hard wearing and chip resistant.

chipsahoy · 04/06/2013 07:14

They are discontinuing all their makeup :( The aldi facebook page announced it a few weeks ago.

Wrinkle Stop thingy is supposed to knock 10 yrs off.

Northumberlandlass · 04/06/2013 08:41

Ah man! Saw some BB cream in my Aldi on Saturday and thought that £4.99 was a bit steep (in Aldi world) - will pop back in & get some.

BeaLola · 04/06/2013 09:18

Thanks for all the suggestions - just hope stuff in stock when I get there Flowers

Their face wash is amazing. I always stock up!

RiffyWammal · 04/06/2013 09:25

Whaaat?! They're discontinuing their make up? Why the hell? What a massive pain, I hope they've still got some of the concealer so I can stock up.

That's the thing with Aldi - they do stuff that you find you really like and then they stop selling it. I'm still waiting for them to bring the balsamic glaze back, it was ace.

Theas18 · 04/06/2013 09:52

BB cream is brilliant! and it's back for a week or so. Stock up!

discontinuing make up? that's bad. Where will father christmas shop for nicely presented make up for grown up teenagers?

Theas18 · 04/06/2013 09:53

I have the fair BB it's good for my pale " english rose" complexion. It's also not heavily tinted, more sheer so I'm going to let the 14yr old have some.

It does tone down the redness in my cheeks a touch too,

I've just gone to my first ever Aldi - 8 mile drive in my lunch hour. I wanted to check it out.

Managed to do a "half" shop, get 2 bottles of nice wine (Prosecco & OZ Chardonnay), some BB cream, SPF15 day cream and a ready meal for lunch for £47.

Couldn't linger over products as time was limited - it did seem virtually the same as Lidl though.

BeCool · 04/06/2013 15:18

oh dear I didn't get any concealer!

happyreindeer · 04/06/2013 15:57

I cannot believe they are stopping their beauty products. Why? fgs.

ThePortlyPinUp · 04/06/2013 16:40

I love the hydrating serum, and Q10 day and night creams.

Cherrypie32 · 04/06/2013 18:20

Their gin is award winning too BeCool, beat Bombay Saphire etc in recent test Wink
