Shopping disaster

Please help oh wise ones...

In true form I have left it until the last minute to find a dress for a restaurant lunch with the dreaded 'smart casual ' dress code.

I went shopping today and found absolutely nothing. Will try Boden tomorrow but am I not hopeful.

What do I wear?? I am 5'8 size 12-14 depending on cut, big of hip & boob but flattish of stomach. Am fairly fussy about quality of material & prefer casual to smart.

Love the pattern on that woodland one. Sory to hijack thread but was anyone watching lewis last night and knows where the woodland looking blouse was that a woman was wearing?(she was hen in 4 weddings and a funeral)

Wow! Thank you will start checking the links - budget upto £150 I suppose, but only if it is a dress I love and will get lots of wear out of it

Remus like the 3rd & 4th Cos items - although prefer the green.
allthingspretty liked the polka dot.

Can't be too short as have dodgy knees, don't want to look 'mumsy' not 'muttony'

Hate dress codes - they make me twitchy ( there are a lot of y's is this post, sorry)

Should I just hit the town again and avoid Boden?

What sort of shapes do you particularly like/suit and what shops are available to you?

Plus3 · 03/06/2013 22:24

Tried several times to answer that Remus, but failed.

I feel like a man in drag when I put the wrong dress on - or like a little girl dressing up.

Suppose I need straight, but not shapeless. Some sort of sleeve.

I want a dress that I feel good in, looks fairly up to date & not frumpy, that looks suitable for fairly posh restaurant but still wearable for other occasions.

I am after the Holy Grail of dresses.
